So far I found Rays Sushi is the best Japanese restaurant in my area. Ray originally opened in Hayward , then they moved to Newark a few years ago. We followed Ray to Newark. After about a year , closed again and relocated to Lion Plaza , Newark. We then return to Ray so many times. Now during pandemic, I ordered sushi to go more often. They have a management team to reply email, answering questions, they take care of my order correctly , great job done every time. Quality of food still as good as dine in. two thumbs up

喜欢日本餐,特别是生鱼片,所以对Ray’s sushi 的菜非常喜欢!东西做的比较精致,老板要求比较高,所以强烈推荐!

Exceptional and flavorful food, I loved the atmosphere this spot has, and the cashiers were very welcoming. Will surely come back in the future.

They are supposed to be open. There is a sign that states they are temporarily closed. They really need to get it together. Won't be coming back to a place that is not consistent. Just go down the street to Satomi who is always open.

We went twice because it shows as "Hot and New" on Yelp and has a Grand Opening sign outside. However both times we were greeted by a large "Sorry we are temporarily closed" sign right below the grand opening sign. Who does something like this? Either you have grand opening or you don't.

They have done up the place pretty well, things are well laid out. Feels big, yet cozy. The waiting staff was very attentive, likely because we were one of two families there, but still very friendly. Their appetizers we're quite delicious. They have a lot of items on the menu. However the thing that we came there for, the sushi was quite underwhelming. There wasn't enough sauce or taste on the premium rolls. It was just meh. I think they can definitely improve, but the taste is just average as it stands.

This place isn't bad. I got some rolls and my sister and husband got bento boxes. Mediocre sushi but portion size is decent. However, it was hard to get a hold of them to place a to go order. Also, the food is very very pricey compared to other sushi places around the area.

I've been to their original location at Santa Cruz and loved their food! When i saw their name popped up in my area, i was happy to try it out. As always, good foods, warm service and a clean setting(yes it was spacious w/ a new interior). Definitely will be back often!!!

Walking distance from our office. Came to support our local business partners. To my surprise portions are large. We were greeted by a very friendly staff. The manager introduced himself and appreciated us dining at the restaurant. Thank you I Love Sushi for the Saki. We will be back for lunch!

First time here since they've recently opened and had a pleasant experience. Although I do "love sushi", they had a lunch special at the time so my family and I all ordered bento boxes. The portions were great, usually will bentos when you order CA rolls about 4-5 is provided, but here they gave 8 pieces on a separate sushi plate. They also gave us an appetizer on the house when we came in. The service was excellent too, almost every waitress checked up on us throughout our meal. I'll definitely be back to try their rolls.

I ate lunch here with a friend on a Tuesday afternoon because my friend wanted to try it out. Place is brand new, I liked the interior and the warm welcome. Since the place is new it wasn't super busy even at 1 in the afternoon. We were given a few pieces of the Golden California roll on the house to try which was nice. It wasn't as crispy anymore but I still liked the taste so I decided to order that for my meal. Before our food came out, we were given another appetizer on the house- the Heart Attack, which I think is a variation of the regular Jalapeño popper. I especially liked that one because it wasn't as spicy as I expected it to be. Overall the food is great, my friend and I are definitely going to come back. The only thing was that while we were eating they kept coming back and asking how the food was etc. which I guess was also nice but maybe once or twice was enough. We felt like if we made eye contact with a server they would come back and ask again how the food was doing which then made it a little uncomfortable.

This is a pretty nice setting. Because it's new, it isn't busy and we were able to eat in peace. Also, the waitress was very attentive to our needs, stopping by every so often to clean up the plates. The first impressions were great, we got a few appetizers on the house. The menu is a bit long, which is good but I personally felt a bit pushed to order when I haven't even looked at the second page. The sushi however, is a bit mediocre. I ordered the Godzilla. Decent taste, only wished the tempura was freshly fried so it would be crunchy. The tea was warm but I like warm tea, maybe it should be hotter for other customers. Special mention to the server for providing children's chopsticks without us asking her. The price racked up pretty high for 2 rolls, fried crab and a bento, but the free food (4 crunchy spicy mayo bites, jalapeño pepper poppers, miso soup, edamame) included evens it out in a way? Overall great service but mediocre food.

"I Love Sushi" takes over Beque Korean Grill. interior looks minimally changed with addition of sushi bar. offerings: appetizers. lunch/dinner bento boxes, sushi rolls, nigiri, entrees, sukiyaki, tempera, donburi, udon, sushi dinners. eats: 2 item lunch box with hamachi sashimi (12 +$1) -salty miso soup, fresh iceberg lettuce with no dressing, combed edaname beans, 2 pieces comped fried cali roll (mushy ok) -4 pieces hamachi tasted better than average fresh. -tonkotsu had nice crispness, pork meat moist, not juicy. bottled sauce. -white rice mushy. 3.5 stars, bento box better than average value. quality average. temaki: -very attentive service, tea refilled many times -menu tricky to read (by design?), lunch bento boxes on bottom -Amigo sushiman wore blue gloves. lst time sushiman seen wearing rubber.
