I’ve been to the San Jose location and happy to visit Newark’s. Quality is still the same and even better service. We had to have a quick lunch so the server made sure we got our food and check in a timely manner. We got the bánh khốt (fried shrimp batter with fish sauce), hụi tiêu (noodle with red sauce), and bánh xèo (Vietnamese fried crepe). Everything was delicious! You need to give them a try.

My gf, her family and our kids all love this place because of one dish..the stewed river prawns. Whenever we visit her family, we bring some. Whenever they visit, they ask to get this. Older daughter asks for this whenever she comes home, etc etc..you get the picture. Its basically 2 river prawns (usually one humungous sized and the other above average sized..not sure why they do it this way), stewed in this pungent umami flavor bomb of a sauce. Its so good , the younger daughter will just eat the sauce over rice. Its the only dish we ever order and they all love it.

My sisters and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the bo luc lac. It's one of our favorite dishes. It goes well with the tomato rice. We've been going to this restaurant for years.

This place has the best shrimp & pork spring rolls. Really everything on the menu is great.

We waited 1 hour to get our food. Food was good. I would go to the Milpitas one near Dixon Landing for better service. That one is busier than this one but at least they can accommodate the crowd. It’s the same restaurant with the same menu.

Still as good post pandemic. The lemongrass grilled pork is the tastiest porcine bite in the east bay and the duck soup with bamboo shoots is so rich, it turns to a jelly if refrigerated.
