I wanted to recommend West of Orleans in Newbury Park.
We recently had food catered from there, and it was some of the best Southern/Cajun-inspired food I’ve had in a long time. The jerk chicken mac and cheese was rich and flavorful, the barbecue pork belly was tender and disappeared fast, and the red beans and rice was exceptional.
Everyone in our group was impressed. If you’re looking for catering or a great meal in the Conejo Valley area, I’d definitely recommend giving West of Orleans a try.

The woman who helped me was really nice, she offered me a sample of seafood gumbo upon picking up my order. The seafood jambalaya was amazing and the smoked ribs were yummy. I will definitely be going back for those items.

Ordered a couple sandwiches to go. They were delicious and fresh! The chef and owner Marcus, came and introduced himself. He was warm and welcoming and even offered us some fresh made Gumbo as we were walking out the door. It was amazing!

One word…YUM!!! We keep coming back to this adorable ma and pa owned local place because it’s delicious and the owners are so nice! The Brisket Mac and cheese, jumbo shrimp, chicken gumbo, cornbread, and tri tip po boy sandwich are all incredible as those are the ones I’ve tried. I’m sure all their food is amazing! I highly recommend this place, go check it out!! :)

Friendly workers and amazing food. The blackened chicken Alfredo and shrimp and grits are amazing. I’ve also had the seafood gumbo which I love and the fried chicken. My favorite type of food to splurge on when I’m in Ventura county

Ate food from here a few times, always good and the owners are extremely welcoming, usually offering up samples of gumbo, which I never turn down. Also very reasonably priced.
Most recently, I picked up a large order for a birthday party. I got shrimp mac & cheese, seafood etouffee, chicken jambalaya, red beans and rice, and three types of wings. Everything was bomb, people loved it, and the big beautiful shrimp were abundant!! Communication was really outstanding, Marcus was great to deal with and he came in on Sunday to make the food fresh and be available for pickup. Everything worked out perfectly. Highly recommend!!!
