Takeout only restaurant. The jambalaya is fantastic and has brought me back multiple times. The sandwiches have amazing flavor but do seem to be very juicy (sometimes the bread is soaked through if you don't immediately eat the sandwich).

Authentic and exceptional jambalaya far from the big easy! The gumbo looked good too, but the seafood jambalaya was exceptional! Generous portions of crab, shrimp and crawfish with the perfect amount of spice!

It’s not often something new and different comes along in the Thousand Oaks culinary seen. West Of Orleans is just that, there are no substitutes for this genre of food. Marcus has created an authentic Southern dining experience that must be tried to believe. I ordered the Chicken Gumbo, Seafood Etouffée and the Black Eyed Peas. The seafood was the true star of my meal, the shrimp was plump and fresh. The flavors took me back to my childhood eating my grandmother’s Southern cooking. The next time I’m in I will be trying other options on the menu. Do not hesitate, get there now and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Worth the detour! Greeted with delicious samples from the owner who patently guided us through the menu. If you like mac ‘n cheese you’ve got to try, best mac I’ve ever had outside of homemade.Dietary restrictions: I’m pescatarian, and they had several options.

OMG! I stopped by for the first time, finally, after reading all the reviews. I had the smoked brisket Po Boy, soft shell crab, and macaroni and cheese, best I ever had! The sauce that came with the softshell crab was delicious, and even the chips that came with the sandwich were very good. The brisket melted in your mouth. They were also very nice. She even offered me a taste of the gumbo, which was delicious! I will definitely be coming back again!

Such a hidden gem that I recently discovered not only makes delicious food, but is owned by one of the nicest couples you'll ever meet. Chef Marcus and his wife are truly sharing their passion for making delicious food. Hubs and I were offered free samples of their jerk chicken wings while waiting for our order...which BTW...were incredible! But I was here for the Shrimp Po' Boy on grilled French bread, and it didn't disappoint. In fact I couldn't decide between the fried or sautéed shrimp so they made mine with both! What a delectable sandwich that was so big I could only eat half. And the homemade potato chips were also very tasty. Be sure to try the Cabbage and Kale Saute and Red Beans Rice...both I can honestly say are as good as it gets. Hubs got the Soft Shell Po' Boy and said it was "freaking amazing" lol. Please try this restaurant, on repeat, and keep them in mind when you are planning your next event, as they do a lot of catering too.

Very tasty. I grew up in New Orleans and am always looking for good Cajun / Creole food. We had Po Boys which were all very tasty; Soft Shell Crab, Saute Shrimp and Soft Brisket. The staff was very friendly too. Will definitely be going back to try other items.

Consider yourself blessed if you ever drive or walk by their smoker sitting outside while they’re using it. It smells so good you’ll want to pull over immediately. The Po Boys are amazing

Super food, great people. Only 4* because they're closed 3 days of the week and those seem to be the days we want to eat there. The brisket is amazing. Also love the jambalaya.
