The restaurant is closed for a remodel - why didn't I get a message about this? My boss showed up for the reservation and there was no restaurant dine at!
My mom and I dined here for years. Now I take my daughter to lunch at 59th and Lex . The wraps and salads are outstanding. The atmosphere is always amazing. Service is top notch. For ladies who lunch or men too for that matter, you will not be disappointed as it's always an enjoyable experience.
The orange Glazed Salmon Salad was a 10/10. Love this place!!

THE ULTIMATE GRILLED CHEESE ! You better believe it. My wife and I came here for lunch for the first time 2 weeks ago. Who doesn't loved a great grilled cheese sandwich with the lot.....bacon, cheese, tomato, caramelized onions on thick delicious sourdough ? WE DO ! We had to order The Ultimate Grilled Cheese ( mozzarella, cheddar, bacon, grilled tomato, sourdough ) and Caramelized Onions for $1 extra. And it came with a big serve of Steakhouse Fries. WHATTA DEAL FOR $15 ! We've lived in Irvine for 16 months and haven't had a decent grilled cheese sandwich anywhere...until here. WE'RE BACK ! On Saturday after taking care of business at Whole Foods Market we couldn't get over here fast enough for lunch. We walked inside at 1.25pm and it was packed out....even the huge outdoor patio was almost full. Hunter ( our server from our first visit ) saw us and said hi. We found a vacant table...not perfectly ideal as it was copping a cold breeze from the open door fronting their outdoor patio. GOOD ENOUGH ! A cheery server named Bree dropped by to take our lunch order and we asked for glasses of iced water. THIS TIME ! Now their lunch menu is very comprehensive......you don't get the elevated choices served here at your everyday local cafe. We had every intention of ordering something new like Seafood Fettuccine or Blackened Chicken Penne. BUT ! The Ultimate Grilled Cheese was sooooo good we had to have it again. But this time we shared because it is huge. We asked Bree for 1 x The Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Steakhouse Fries & add on Caramelized Onions. WHOO HOO ! Our incredibly delicious looking Ultimate Grilled Cheese with Hand Cut Fries arrived 10 minutes after we ordered it. We split it down the middle of course. MOUTHSATIONAL ! Hard to imagine a better made grilled cheese sandwich....I make a very good one at home. And the fat hand cut fries tasted awesome. DESSERT ! There was no way in the world we weren't going to order the Triple Chocolate Mousse ( dark chocolate cake, milk chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse )...we had it the first time. And again it was TOTALLY DECADENT ! Bree made us a couple of very good double shot Cappuccinos with 2% milk and Monin hazelnut syrup. LUNCH CAN'T GET ANY BETTER !

INCREDIBLE LUNCH ! My wife and I were in here for lunch on a Saturday recently. We've been here a few times in recent weeks...the level of food and service is outstanding ! The weather was pretty drab so the outdoor patio was off limits. We prefer to sit indoors anyway. Our fav server Hunter gave us big hugs when we walked in. Hunter brought us menus and huge glasses of iced waters. FIRST UP ! Hunter said they were offering an amazing Soup of the Day that we should try.....Albondigas Soup ( meatball soup ). SOMETHING NEW ! We were in the mood to try something different on the menu. My wife went for a New York Turkey Club ( turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, sourdough toast ) and I decided on a Tuscan Wrap ( chicken, avocado, dried cranberry, dried fig, pecan, fontina, mixed greens, truffle aioli, sun dried tomato tortilla ). OMG ! And for just $2 extra my wife added a side of Sweet Potato Fries while I added a side of Onion Rings for just 2 bucks. Hunter brought out a bowl of steaming Albondigas Soup for us to share. DELICIOUS would not do this mouthwatering soup justice. So good that my wife asked Hunter to find out the ingredients from the chef so we could make it at home. AND HE DID ! Then our amazing looking lunch orders hit the table. My wife's New York Turkey Club with side of Sweet Potato Fries was big enough to feed a small army. AND SHE LOVED IT ! You would have to see my Tuscan Wrap and side of Onion Rings to appreciate the scale....has to be the biggest wrap I have ever seen in my life.....and oh so delicious. ONION RINGS....these babies were as good as it gets. We managed to get through about half of everything.....that delicious Albondigas Soup was very filling. There are Michelin rated restaurants that don't serve food as good as here. YOU MUST EAT HERE !

ULTRA DELICIOUS LUNCH ! My wife and I are always on the lookout for a good feed someplace new. THIS IS IT ! We made a pretty big purchase at Bloomingdale's very recently...our first ever and it was a very enjoyable experience. So we thought their in-store restaurant might be worth trying. I looked up the lunch menu online and was pleasantly surprised with the selection...and the prices. On Saturday we arrived at Fashion Island around 1pm. After parking our wheels in the multi level parking garage we walked over here. It was a rainy day so their covered outdoor patio was shut down. We headed inside Bloomingdale's and asked a female sales associate where was the 59th & Lex Cafe ? The lady pointed to our right and there it was. We walked inside at 1.11pm and a friendly server named Hunter said those 2 tables against the wall are in a nice warm location. NOT MUCH GOING ON ! We may have been a bit early for the regular lunch time crowd...there were maybe 2 other diners in sight. Hunter brought us menus.....we wanted all the menus incl the very important dessert menu. We asked for iced waters and very soon 2 huge glasses of iced water arrived. THE MENU ! My wife spotted THE ULTIMATE GRILLED CHEESE ( mozzarella, cheddar, bacon, grilled tomato, sourdough ) includes your choice of Skinny Cut Fries, Steakhouse Fries, Potato Salad, House Salad, Caesar Salad. WHAT A LIST ! We asked Hunter if one was big enough to share...he suggested not. We ordered 2 x Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.....mine with Steakhouse Fries while my wife took up an option for Asparagus Soup. Oh and Hunter gave us the option to add Caramelized Onions to our grilled sandwiches. YES PLEASE ! We also asked about Lattes and Cappuccinos..we could see a pretty decent espresso machine behind the cashier counter. Mmmm those 15 oz cups looked a lot bigger than what we wanted. FAST SERVICE ! Our beautifully presented lunch hit the table at 1.30pm. Everything looked very fabulous. The grilled cheese sandwiches were fully loaded and quite large....we could have shared. But gee they were delicious...the caramelized onions took it to the stratosphere. My huge potatoey Steakhouse Fries hit the spot and my wife really enjoyed her well made Asparagus Soup. TOO BAD ! We got though about half of our sandwiches. DESSERT ! They had a very nice selection. We chose the TRIPLE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE ( dark chocolate cake, milk chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse ). We asked Hunter if he could knock out a couple of cappuccinos for us in smaller cups with 2% milk and Monin Hazelnut Syrup. NO PROB ! Before we knew it Hunter brought out 2 small cappuccinos which he made...they tasted very rich & creamy. Our nicely presented Triple Chocolate Mousse arrived soon after....and tasted totally delectable ! Towards the end of our lunch we had a lovely chat with 2 regulars...female vendors from Neiman Marcus. Martha and Robin were a couple of real life characters....aka Thelma & Louise. Lunch was great and our friendly server Hunter is in the top tier of servers !

We were visiting the Fashion Island and wanted to grab a quick bite for lunch around 1pm. Most of the places were packed and we found 59th & Lex had a few open spaces. The place has both indoor and outdoor dining areas. The waiter was attentive, and the food was delicious. I would say this place reminds me of Cheesecake Factory but better (in both the food and the price).
Very disappointed! I’ve been taking my wife and daughter there every weekend for the past 1 1/2 year! Yesterday I went there to ask for a table, the hostess ,who knows us very well, was very rude and condescending. Just because you’re busy that doesn’t give you the right to treat your regular clients with disrespect. I will never go there again.
Food is at most average. The seating is nice as it's an outdoor patio in fashion island.

First time here. Ordered a Cappuccino and their Special of the Day: Shrimp Pesto! It was delicious and they did not skimp out on the shrimps like most places do. The shrimp was tender, perfectly seasoned. I was also happy to see they were deveined/de-tailed, making for easy consumption! The sun dried tomatoes added much needed tang to the rich pesto cream sauce. Linguini noodles cooked to perfect al dente. The Cappuccino here is delicious and smooth. Service was also great.
