Long wait. Made a reservation at 6:45PM, got seated in 7:20PM. Service is horrible and still waiting for our food. This place is not like used to be good anymore. Go somewhere else.

We have been to multiple Hibachi type places in the past and have had wonderful experiences. This was our first time at Benihana while visiting California. We were seated quickly, that was a plus but everything from then on kind of went downhill. We had our orders taken, then the soup came out (it was decent), then the salad came out (it was not my favorite).Eventually our cook came to start our food. He was nice, but his cooking skills were very poor and his ability to "put on show" was mediocre at best. My chicken was dry and rubbery (cooked too long), the steak was oily and buttery - to where you couldn't even taste the steak flavor. The steamed rice arrived AFTER we had already eaten the majority of our food.We had hyped this up to our kids as "you're going to love this. It's so much fun." And we left with them saying: "mom, we should have just went to McDonalds and saved a ton of money." For the $200 we spent, we expected a lot more out of it. A LOT more. We won't be visiting this restaurant in the future.

I managed to get the details of Nick, a brunette young guy, who is a chef there, I believed he was the executive chef the way he treated my son and I when we asked for anything. He made his birthday very special, making us laugh during a rather awkward dinner experience otherwise, the way he turned out experience around he needs to be promoted immediately to management as this was by far the best time we've ever come here out of dozens of dinners that were often cold and impersonal. Nick is seriously the best, thank you for saving our bad experience!

The waitress who touched us first disappeared, she brought us the first round of drinks, she served me a tea and never refilled it again, she disappeared and we no longer knew who the waiter was. Until the end, when I asked for another tea and they took a while to bring it to me, I stopped to ask for it because they were already late. Suddenly a person arrived and we didn't know if it was his assistant or the waiter because he didn't come very close to see what we needed. First the check arrived and last the dessert because he forgot to offer the dessert we had to ask him for it.

Really enjoyed having someone cook infront of us. Nice getaway. Most of our birthday parties are here. The grandkids love it.
The food was great. But we waited 40 minutes for our chef to come at lunch. There was no one in here during lunch. Also waited a long time for the sushi which we order when we got there and didn’t get time after 40 minutes. I just wished there was better service it was my mom’s birthday horrible experience and service. They are severely understaffed.DO NOT RECOMMEND
