Classic dive bar across the parking lot from the beach in Newport. I normally order a special sandwich, pickled egg and a draft beer. The draft beer is always good, they pour a lot of drafts so it is always fresh and ice cold. Bar service so order at the bar and either sit / stand there (it's often very crowded so barstools can be hard to come by. Or sit at a booth if there's one available.

I’ve been going to Blackies for over 35 years when I go to Newport. I love their eggs, and usually when I’m in town I purchase them, and bring them home. They are usually $20 a jar. Today, I bought and ice chest for the ride home, called before I went, and the bartender said they aren’t allowed to sell them anymore she thought, but would check with the owner and call me back. She called me back and told me the owner would sell them to me for $150 a jar! Talk about price gouging! I won’t be going back, but I will learn to make them myself!

Dee is the best bartender in not just Newport but possibly the world, I'm going to be real with you I was served the best sandwich I've ever had. Need we not forget how cold this Pacifico is.
