Amazing food. Went with 5 people, everyone ordered something different, we all shared. It was all good. If you like miso soup, start with that.

Great sushi, I love the truffle one… one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Took a while to sit down but was worth it

Reservations are a must! Hosts weren’t the friendliest but our server was amazing. Food was fresh and delicious. You can tell the salmon is high quality and so fresh. Seriously some of the best salmon nigiri i’ve had. The lollipop rolls were interesting (no rice, low carb friendly) but I wouldn’t order them again. The salmon roll with touch of lemon on top was so good. And you can’t go wrong with the toro roll.

Did ownership change ?? Completely different and new staff and sushi was different and presentation of food was also lacking. Albacore sushi was just a piece of fish on rice. No Garnish or sauce with wasabi at all. Buddhas favorites role also changed. I was disappointed over

Oishi! Been coming here since I was a teenager. I think it's changed owners but the quality of the fish is SO good. Seating changed a bit after covid but it's still nice.Parking: I've never had a hard time finding parking here.Kid-friendliness: Have high chairs and comfy seats outside.

DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS AT 2:30 PM!!!My visit today was disappointing. I've been here once and know how great the quality of the food is which is why I requested my bf to take me here on our one and only day off we get to spend together. We wanted to have a laid back day since we are always in a rush every day. My bf made a 2:30pm reservation, in which we got there 10min late. Once we got seated, our server let us know that the last call was at 2:45, basically telling us that we have 5min to order since they close at 3pm. My bf didn't bother to look at the time they close since he made our reservation online and chose a late afternoon time slot that was open. We asked why is there an option to reserve for 2:30 if they close at 3 to the server and she smiled and said "yeah I don't know why it does that". This basically shows that she is aware about it and gave us the impression that it has happened before with other customers. Her response wasn't appreciated and we didn't want to be rushed. What could've been done instead is given us a call after our reservation was made letting us know the time they close and if we were okay keeping the reservation. It would've saved us the trip driving there since we live 30min away. Instead we ate at Sushi Roku and enjoyed the rest of our day.

Delicious sushi in a cute beachy location. Sit at the sushi bar and order any of the specials!

My favorite sushi spot in Newport! Such a hidden gem. It's right on the water so you can look out on the boats. The beagle and Jamie's crying are my personal favorite rolls. Service has been hit or miss for me but love it regardless and always recommend this place to people.

Buddha's Favorite is a trendy sushi bar right on the water in Newport Beach and while it was alright, I'm not sure I would come back. One of the biggest positives is the ambiance. Sitting on the water during sunset makes for a special meal regardless of the other factors. As for the food itself, it was just okay. Considering this is Newport Beach, the menu catered to its audience and a lot of things kind of ended up tasting like variations of a California roll. It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive because there were several big parties at the time we were there. This probably is only a big problem on a Saturday night which is when we went. Parking also sucked and was $6 for valet but also to be expected by being on the water. Servers were super nice though and none of the food was bad by any means, just kind of eh

It was good. But it wasn't great. Had higher expectations. Matsu still reigns # 1

I made a reservation for my daughters birthday a week in advance for 7 people. I was given the option for indoors at 6pm and 8pm for outdoors. We wanted a reservation for outdoors only so we made our plans work for 8pm. Arrived on time only to find out the staff set up the table indoors and if we wanted to sit outdoors we would have to wait until 9:30pm? That’s bad customer service. If you are not able to accommodate your customers for their booking you need to call the phone number provided and inform them of the situation prior to arrival. We would have went elsewhere. Needless to say the 20% gratuity was not deserved. We will not be coming back.

This is my favorite sushi place. I would eat here every day if I could. The foods always great, so is the service and vibes.

I loved the vibe of this place. We had reservations and we still had to wait... and it's only valet parking even though we literally parked it ourselves and then they gave us the keys and we went and got our car... it has beautiful views of the harbor. it's attached to other small restaurants and it's a small spot. they were playing bangers on the speakers and the waitress was so kind and helpful and fun. the food was delicious, obviously their sushi is what hit the best!
