Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

It's ice cream, it's delicious, it's by the beach. Even though is super busy, the service is super fast and friendly. Note: there is no seating, all orders are TO GO.

Excellent hard scooped ice cream with quick service. A must stop for your Newport Beach visit.

I picked the wrong flavor. I think they need a water fountain or a sink for people to wash their hands. I ordered sticky fingers and I spilled it everywhere, and it was wayyy to sweet. Not worth the line at all :( maybe next time I'll try different branch & flavor!

I spoke to the owner of Handels ice cream. he said I was blackmailing him because I was asking for $8000 to settle out of court. When I take him to court and in beautiful Newport Beach, California. I will be asking for $12,500. this beta male employee called me a Karen and said I look like a Karen . I think I look like a Brian This business blocks access to the public handicap spots and their manager who called me a Karen and said I look like a Karen will have to come to court to explain why they were mocking me and discriminating me and blocking access to the handicap spaces

This place knows quality ice cream!!! They have rotating seasonal flavors and I know 100% fact that they make them all in house. They work hard to make the amount of flavors they have definitely.

I got some suggestions from the people working there. They also offered some samples, but I kinda knew what I wanted.

I have to say, some of the best customer service I've had. They are fast, efficient, and friendly!! I'll definitely be coming back to this location.

I was really excited to try this community staple, the flavors I picked spoketi me in different ways and I was looking forward to seeing their take on it. The delivery was fine, but from the pictures I anticipated beautiful and appropriate packaging for ice cream, instead what i received was a cheap plastic container (like the ones the come with deli sandwich at the gas station) with four scoops of ice cream (barely) inside. I forgave the creamy mess in the bag and chalked it up to local quirkiness, the taste was reallyall that mattered...and it did!
Of my four hand-picked flavors, one was incorrect, insteadof the very exciting strawberry oreo i received regular oreo which tasted delicious, but was not what ihad psyched myself for. The Graham Cracker flavor tasted just right and was a joy to have, except for thw bits in the ice cream that make it a biycrunchy but also a bit chewy, perhaps a little less of that? As a standard measure of success i also ordered simple chocolate ice cream, in my opinion, if you can ace that flavor, then you're on track to success.
Unfortunately it was not the case here, it ddnt taste right and it wasnti creamy and voluptuous or sweet enough. To close i had another classic: birthday cake. This last one deserves special mention because its appearance was so deformed and... blue, that it looked more like someone had killed the Cookie Monster and hid the body in my vanilla ice cream. The taste was a little fragrant, too far probably because of all that unnecessary blue dye. I will try anything twice, as they say, so hopefully by the next time i order, they'll have been able to figure out some of the stuff they have only been open since 1945...!

Very bad store who is the manager..!!!

When picking up orders from the ice cream shop, drivers are directed to use a separate window specifically designated for orders to be taken outside. However, every time I approach this pickup window, I encounter a frustrating issue: the shop’s staff completely ignores us. It’s as if they are intentionally disregarding the fact that drivers are waiting there for their orders.

Rather than offering a quick acknowledgment or providing a basic update on wait times, the employees consistently leave us standing there without any response, even when we try to get their attention. This lack of communication and customer service is not only unprofessional but also impacts the efficiency of our delivery process. In situations where time is crucial, it’s disappointing to see the staff acting indifferent toward drivers who are there to facilitate their business by transporting their orders to customers.

A simple acknowledgment or a more organized system for handling driver pickups would make a huge difference. I hope the management addresses this issue promptly, as it is affecting the overall experience for those of us in the delivery profession.

This is a strictly "to go" establishment, so there is not much of an atmosphere to comment on.
Our visit was early evening 7ish on a Saturday. As there is no seating, there were around a dozen people standing around enjoying their ice cream.
Service was friendly and quick, and the ice cream was quite good. However, it was not spectacular or even great. My girlfriend would differ as she loved hers, so perhaps it's the flavor one chooses.
I was happy overall and will definitely visit again.

Was pleasantly surprised to see a Handel’s here. They have walk up service only, & usually a long line but worth the wait.

They have some unique flavors as well. Our family’s favorites probably include Monkey Business, Orange Cream, & Lemon/Lime Pie.

Ordered a lot of ice cream through the app, waited at the window where they take online orders. I waited for 10 minutes while I was using my phone, two rude ignorant people saw me but did not come to the window, I have not seen such horror anywhere! I am from Russia and in our country for such things are fired immediately at the sight of the guest, but not coming up I canceled the order, returned the money and will not go there again. I advise you to put someone at the window where online orders are made!
Shame on your cafe and advise you to fire two employees. They do not respect the guests at all.
