when you mix a classically trained japanese sushi foundation with the personality / flare of honoring California culture as well you get something special. the dishes and staff all have tremendous personality making for a very wonderful experience. a spirits forward cocktail menu that was tremendous thought and care as well.

This is the spot we needed so bad in Newport Beach. Amazing chefs, cocktails, and ambiance. Small and intimate setting with a beautiful interior. Love the lounge concept and being able to try some bites.
My wife and I joined them on a Friday night during their 4th week of operation. We had a wonderful time throughout the omakase experience and would recommend Kaiya to any sushi fan.
