RED O "Taste of Mexico"

The poor lighting in restaurant greatly diminishes the pleasureof a dining experience here. We will not be returning unless this situation is resolved.

Beautiful place, very good service and they pay attention to any request that we had for our reservation. No waiting time, they give us our table right at the time of our reservation. The hand made tortillas and appetizers were delicious!

Great birthday dinner. Food was delicious and drinks were amazing. So glad I decided to celebrate my birthday at Red O.

It's really disappointing that they charge for chips and salsa without even asking if we wanted it by placing it on our table. On top of that they charge twice just because I asked for more salsa. Our server was great, but I found that a little manipulative. Most likely we will head to Javier ‘s now.

One of My Favorite Spots in Newport! This is truly one of my favorite restaurants in Newport—not just for the delicious food and beautiful ambiance, but especially for the exceptional service. What makes it stand out even more is how warmly they greet you, especially when they recognize you from previous visits. That personal touch is impressive and really makes you feel valued. Highly recommend!

me, my babydaddy and his homie came here for a last minute spot for dinner. we surprisingly got seated right away and the hostess Lauren i believe was so kind and sweet walking us to our table.. very welcoming and our waiter Lupe did an amazing job on checking in on our table especially on a busy day. Will definitely come again!

The Fathers Day menu was crazy expensive and they cancelled the 4-6 HH after I called to confirm it was still going on. Very disappointing.

We had a wonderful time at Sunday Brunch. We all had fajitas and it was outstanding, best ever. Our server Leopold was the best as was the team that assisted us. There were 8 of us and they did not rush us and were friendly and attentive. Look forward to returning.

Very Disappointing First Visit This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and unfortunately, the service was very poor. Our server, Jose B. was not friendly and took our order in a rude and dismissive manner. He told my son and his wife that they have 1 min to order and didn't explain why. It made the whole experience uncomfortable. Food was good Based on this visit, we will not be returning.

Disappointed and Underwhelmed – Not Worth the Price My husband and I recently visited Red O Newport Beach for a date night and were extremely disappointed with the experience. We ordered the Surf & Turf Tomahawk Steak and Lobster at the market price of $229, expecting a premium, flavorful meal. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The steak was under-seasoned, completely lacking salt and any real depth of flavor. It was also chewy, which was incredibly disappointing for such a high-priced cut. The lobster was overcooked to the point of being rubbery and dry. To make matters worse, the service was subpar and inattentive. For the price point and the upscale image this restaurant presents, we expected a much higher standard of both food and service. Overall, this was a letdown of a date night. We won't be returning and cannot recommend Red O to others seeking a high-quality dining experience.

The food was fantastic! We got the ceviche and taco plate for two of us and it was amazing. The plantain chips paired with ceviche were immaculate. The cucumber margarita was good, but the ice watered it down, so less ice would've been nice. Our server was very nice and the ambience is fun for a Friday night.
