I was told the wait would be about 15 minutes, which was totally fine. However, after waiting for over 30 minutes, I still wasn’t called in. What was frustrating was that several walk-ins who arrived after me were allowed to go in before me.
I understand that places can get busy, but it would have been nice if the staff had been transparent about the wait time or kept the order fair. The experience felt a bit disorganized and disappointing.

If you are looking for a literal foodgasm in Newport, this is the spot. We stopped in for happy hour and every single bite was a knockout. Very much a shareable gastro adventure. We started with the short rib meatballs, which were incredibly tender and rich, followed by a spicy tuna roll that was super fresh with just the right amount of kick. For the main event, the Shorebird burger was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and exactly what a high-end burger should be. Whatever you do, save room for the carrot cake. We asked with a scoop of ice cream. This is easily some of the best I’ve ever had—moist, perfectly spiced, and the ultimate way to end the meal. Beyond the food, the service really made the night. Our server, Nico, was absolutely amazing—attentive, friendly, and on top of everything. Between the delicious dishes and the great vibes, we’ll definitely be back.

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to after my experience at Shorebird last night. I had a 7:00 PM reservation to celebrate my birthday with my family, and when we arrived, we were told our table had accidentally been given to another party.
We waited by the bar area while they worked on finding us another table. Unfortunately, by 7:45 PM, we still hadn't been seated. During this time, the situation became even more chaotic when the main hostess appeared to have a full-blown panic attack and was on the floor crying in the middle of the restaurant. What made the situation even more confusing was that the restaurant appeared to be only half full at the time.
The most disappointing part was how the situation was handled afterward. After waiting about 45 minutes past our reservation time, we were understandably getting frustrated and asked for an update. Instead of offering a sincere apology or trying to make things right, the staff became confrontational and had a surprising amount of attitude toward us and told us to leave. The staff was using profanity toward us, and we watched as several parties without reservations were seated ahead of us, which made the situation even more frustrating. The interaction was very unprofessional, and it didn't seem like anyone was in charge of resolving the situation.
The whole experience felt chaotic--honestly like something out of a movie. I've never experienced such poor management at a restaurant before. After this experience, I won't be returning to Shorebird.

Very disappointed with both the food and the service during our lunch visit. We ordered two chicken lemon Caesar salads, string fries, and meatballs, and it took almost an hour for the food to arrive. During that time, I had to repeatedly follow up with the waiter to check on our order. To make matters worse, a table that was seated after us received their food before we did which was really frustrating.
When the Caesar salads finally came out, they were underwhelming. They looked almost store-bought - just shredded lettuce with a few croutons and dry chicken on top. The “string fries” we ordered weren’t even string fries, they were just regular fries. After waiting an hour, the meal definitely didn’t live up to expectations.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.

we were there for a family Valentine's brunch and everyone was very courteous and flexible. Our waiter provider exceptional service, parking is very convenient, the woman outside under the umbrella was very sweet and directed us to the parking structure. Overall had a great experience.

Several people at our hotel recommended the Shorebird to us and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was fantastic and made some great recommendations. The menu is varied and interesting, but the food was incredible. Beautifully presented and delicious. We had a table by the waterfront and it was a perfect night out for a romantic dinner.
