The Alley Restaurant & Bar

One of my favorite bars in Newport. The staff and bartenders are really friendly and the food is amazing! Shout out to their bartender George who always makes us feel welcome.

An institution of Newport. Nice atmosphere, a lot of old timers, food is tasty! Just a smidge dark.

Love this place - we came in on a Friday at 6:00 PM - World Cup was coming up so the place was extra packed. Our waitress was great, the food was great (the sandabs were a little dry or this would have been a 5 star). Really good pub food, great value and great service. Highly reccomend -

Very good place, with good quality well cooked food

Greeted first by a very friendly hostess who sat us at a booth (reservations really help!) and Teresa was great as our server (don't know the name of her helper, but when we come to the Alley he serves us our water, place settings, etc. with a nice smile and recognizes us every time and asks how we are doing). Food really hit the spot for us all, and they serve one of the best classic martinis around!

We specifically went to The Alley for their liver and onions. There are very few places that still serve this dish. We both ordered it and it was delicious. The only issue we had was with the bacon that had an off taste and neither one of us ate it. However, the pricing is great at this restaurant and it was really busy so the noise level was high, but then the soccer FIFA games were on. It is an old standby in Newport and for good reason.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a delicious lunch on May 23, 2026. The food, the service and the ambiance was great!! And very reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be going back for another meal and fun. We had the Ahi burger with choice of a side, the prime rib sandwich with aujou sauce and horse radish on the side and a choice of a side. And a nice choice of deserts. I’ve been told by a friend that the happy hour is really good. Try this place out!

My husband and I go there often, we like many of their dinners. The Monday night BBQ Ribs special is the BEST ever!! Andrea and her daughter are great!
