This place is overrated I don't know who the owner is but how are they going to charge 25 dls for a coffee and a sandwich

I've seen this place numerous times thinking it might be good to try one day. Fast forward to a week ago, I was on my drive to work and popped in for a pastry. Mind you, i did not know what their specialty items were which from what I could tell was their breakfast sandwiches and such. Just not...pastries. I looked at the offerings which were slim to none and chose a muffin. (It's a bakery! Really?) They had macarons though. Lol. Like others noted, I drove away thinking ok, $2 something isn't bad for a muffin. (The guy didn't want to count my change and asked if it was exact. Cashiers nowadays don't like doing math nowadays it seems). I took a try and yup, it was cold as the fridge it came from. Anyways, I give a few stars for the taste because had it been room temp, it could've been pretty good. I guess this is sadly not a great experience and won't warrant a return.

I started coming here years ago when my workplace was close by. They seem to have changed to more limited hours because they are only open now while I'm trapped at my work site. Pity that they don't open at 7am. Their current hours are 8am - 2pm. I believe they cater to the CSUN students and office workers in the area. I'm can only come here on weekends. They decor has drastically changed! No more cool 60's record album covers in frames on the wall. The decor is pretty boring nowadays - all dark brown paint :-( They do not have the danishes I used to love: the raspberry, the custard and the apricot. RIP. They do still have an awesome ALMOND croissant that's huge with almond paste galore! If you love that sort of thing as I do, trust me and get one unless it's sold out! $4.85. They still have their Challah Bread and a chocolate version too. And their Vietnamese iced coffee is so strong that it'll keep you awake all day long- highly recommend! $5.50. They are known for their MACARONS. They are $2.50 each, and if you've ever made them, as I have, you know they are a PAIN and CRACK easily - so I now PAY to purchase them instead of making them! I got 6 for $13.50: tiramisu, Earl Grey, lemon, coconut, strawberry shortcake and Rose. Yum. Just wish they opened earlier.

They serve cold pastries! Appalling! They asked if I wanted it warm but I didn't get that if not they would be taking theirs out of a cold refrigerator. Never ever seen that done (and I eat a lot of pastries). It lacked all that the Brentwood location offers.

First things first, I called three times to see if they were open, no answer. Decided to go by anyways, figured to see a closed store or busy one, not the case. The store was open and there was 2 customers seated, no line and honestly no person to greet me or even at the counter. It was a bit sad looking, the display case was dreadful, not vibrant with pastry as I once remembered it. I got a few things that were just ok (muffins, strawberry-cheese danish, almond croissant). One item that was not ok was the stale cinnamon roll, tasted day old.

Cool little spot, very clean. Decent selection of bakery items, along with many different lunch items. I've ordered the cold turkey sandwich a couple of times and it's always fresh and tasty. The French roll is incredible. Prices are a little high but I do enjoy supporting a locally owned business. My only complaint would be I wish the young woman at the counter was a little nicer. Not too many friendly vibes from her. But definitely check it out!

I've been coming to this place for a long time. I loved coming here for their croissants and breakfast burritos. Today I came in to buy a pastry. As I walked in the cashier greeted me. I was by the pastry counter and she was by the cash register. They had limited options as it was almost noon so I already knew what I wanted. On every occasion the cashier would always come to the customer if he/she were at the pastry counter. This is customary of every bakery and donut shops. As I was waiting another customer walks in and starts ordering a coffee and sandwich. I look at the cashier as I was in the store first. The cashier ignored me and continued to help the person that just walked in. Seeing that the cashier didn't care to help me first since I was there first and waited patiently, I left. A business that doesn't care to provide service to the first person that comes in during a time that it's not busy, is not a business that I need to support. Belwood may think this review is petty but my time is valuable and I'm sure as a business they value their time as well

Best sandwiches. Macaroons are the best. Workers are nice and friendly. Would definitely come back!

Although the sandwiches are the best of the area and all the food that they sell there is also delicious, is the worse place for working there. There's a guy who treat you as you are a slave. Fortunately he doesn't belong to the family that are the real owners of that clean and nice place.

Great little spot I always pass by when going to the bookstore next door. Had the Benny's Special and it was phenomenal. Just the right amount of spicy.

It this a bakery now or just a hobby! Not open Monday or Tuesday which is ridiculous. They don't open until 8AM, for a bakery this is crazy. People who go to work like to pick up food or drinks on the way. I stopped there 3 times this month to get my ham and cheese croissant, they asked if I wanted it heated, I said yes. Got in my vehicle an ate the frozen croissant 3X on the way to work. Just not worth the fuss anymore. Portos down the street should put the rest of the screws in their coffin for a permanent closure. See you in bakery heaven!

Where did the album art go on the walls? I hope they replace it with some other type of art. I love the breakfast sandwiches!

I came today (my first time) for an iced coffee. I underestimated their espresso shots and had to request my drink to be remade. The coffee is delicious but I am caffeine sensitive. I felt bad but they remade it and provided great customer service. Their kindness really made my day. The shop is clean, the staff is professional, and I was treated with a lot of respect. The coffee is high quality and the food is out of this world. If you're looking for a coffee shop to try out, breakfast, or lunch, please come here. Amazing!!!

The sandwich was great. The Challah roll set it off. The lavender latte was good sweet, I could taste the lavender. The macaroons are amazing, I'd say one of the best in the valley. They are a little pricey though. So the overall price I payed $38!! for 1 coffee 1 sandwich and 6 cookies! That's why I give it only 3 stars. It's a small "dive cafe" walk in order barley seating. It's like cafeteria seating No seating out side either. It should not cost that much there. Will only go back for macaroons for a treat (My friend got the other macaroons you see in pictures) Quick reviews just for you
