Cafe 86 - Northridge Reviews
My family and I were out of town in Northridge and visited Café 86 yesterday. We are really excited as ube is one of our favorite flavors! The halo halo and the items we ordered were delicious.
Unfortunately, an exciting afternoon turned into a bit of a scary incident. The pastries were not labeled with which items contain nuts. My nephew just learned that he has a nut allergy. He ordered the Tres leches cake, and there was a crumble on top. My nephew took two bites of...read full review

Cafe 86 is a cozy community spot that serves up unique and unmatched desserts. The ube bread pudding is a must-try, with its vibrant violet hue and velvety texture tantalizing the taste buds. The cafe also offers refreshing drinks, such as the mahalo mango drink, perfect for hot days. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing excellent recommendations. The ube shake is a favorite, with the right consistency, sweetness, and loaded with cookie crumbles. The ube/flan cupcake is also a popular choice, with a moist cupcake and balanced flan. The Ube Tres Leches is an ube sponge that is soaked in coconut, evaporated and condensed ube milk and topped with whipped ube halaya and a crunchy layer of cashew meringue. The Ube Ice cream is very straightforward and expectedly delicious. The ambience is a cute little cozy space, and feels especially warm and inviting. The sea salt coffee and the halo-halo were great! The seating area is clean and inviting. The service is fast and friendly, and the staff is very attentive.
This cafe is small but dimly lit when visited in the afternoon. Some of their dessert options were sold out, but their ube cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes ever had. The skyflakes crust was well made. A must-visit for ube lovers, with all sorts of ube-themed pastries along with a wide selection of drinks and other treats (many themed after Filipino cuisine). The ube latte and ube pop tart were delicious. A great place to hang out or even study, soothing any cravings for Filipino/ube desserts.
