Best Mexican in town. Even in Novato, a small town that has a disproportionate number of Mexican restaurants. Authentic enough by Gringo standards: not a word of English spoken here during my last visit. But don’t let that interfere with the ambience, the friendliness of the staff, and of course, the great food.

The food here is one of the best Mexican you can have in Novato. The service has changed to be rude and aggressive for no reason.

Highly disappointed. Waited an hour while there was no one in there for a shrimp taco with 1 shrimp cut into 20 pieces. Salsa is too hot not edible and the service was horrible.

Unfortunately I will not be going back here for a while, or maybe at all. Placed a to go order which was very simple. Went to pick up the food and I confirmed what it was she said yes. The lady that helped me was not very friendly at all and I trusted her when she said yea yea it’s how you ordered. Ok I trust you. I don’t feel like I need to check my food in the car. I was wrong, drove 20 minutes home to open the completely wrong order. I have a food allergy and it’s a big deal if your food is wrong, you can’t even take one bite. I called and they apologized and said they would remake it. Go to pick up the food and get home and once again, wrong size burrito so I was over charged. Wasted now over an hour on all of this. Never was offered a refund, gift card, nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this place because of how they handled this situation. The issue was not resolved and they could care less. Way too expensive to not even get the correct food in the end. I highly suggest Mi Pueblo Taqueria down the street next to the police station, very nice nice people!

Food is always good, the service could use a little help. A little slow at times when they're busy . Very consistent in the food , I wish they gave a bit more chips on food Togo. There very tasty!

Every time we have gone to eat, they have always served us very well, ? but we went this time and a very bitter lady served us. She is short and white but her energy is very heavy. The girl, I don't know if she has family problems or if something is happening, but I think You have to learn to separate personal and work, which is bad because the food is excellent.

We had dinner here on a recommendation from a friend and it was even better than we hoped. The portions are very generous and the big burritos are huge! Flavors were delicious and not too hot but you can add some hot sauce for the extra kick. We will definitely be back.

Definitely my go-to spot for Mexican in Novato. Pueblo more expensive. This spot expanded 2x and still kept up popularity. Good bar, our door seating.Parking: Just park on a side street and walk 3 minutes, but also.. if the bank across the street is closed park in their lot. (Don't tell them I said that ;))Kid-friendliness: Yes, the have a fish tank too!Wheelchair accessibility: I would say yes.. know tho I am not in a wheelchair. I would guess the bathroom would be hard to get to. It's down a small hallway. (Again idk really, but front door may be small.. very nice options outside)

I spent over $70 and if only I could get the full taste of the good I would've been happy. Tamales was half alright, enchiladas was an iffy, salsa and pica de gala need help. I've been in novel 8 years and yet to find a good Mexican food. I have to go all the way to Richmond.

When we lived in Novato, La Hacienda was our favorite Mexican restaurant! We moved away to the foothills 12 years ago. My daughter and I went to Dillon Beach over Winter break and we came home through Novato, so stopped for dinner. It’s still SO GOOD!! We were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly. The food came out in a good amount of time. I had a chicken enchilada meal and my daughter had a burrito. We both ate everything, it was so good. My husband’s favorite thing from La Hacienda was the Cubana Torta. Even though I didn’t think it would travel well and be good the next day, I ordered him one. To my surprise, it was packaged perfectly (sandwich wrapped in foil to keep it from getting soggy) and it held up and he LOVED it the next day! We wish La Hacienda was closer, but will always stop in when we’re in Marin.
