Honestly, anyone have their own taste buds and all. We choose 5 flavors for the empanadas. Chimichurri Beef, Jamaica beef, Chicken Salsa Verde, Spinach & Cheese and Fugazetta. For us, the only one that was good was the Chicken Salsa Verde. That one is a 5/5 and if I'm near by, im definitely getting that one. The other ones, well... honest true, not my favorite.
Now, we also got some alfajores and they were pretty good. I would give them a 4 out of 5.

Overall, I don't think I would get it again unless for the chicken one.

I love the food at 9 Julio. My personal favorite is the Harvest Salad, the Jamaican empanada and chimichura sauce. Their food is an excellent choice for catering.

Order takeout from here. It’s just simply the best, most delicious food. Everything about it is great. Love the pollo rojo Empanadas and the Peruvian chicken. Also love the fried sweet potatoes.

Friend sent me a gift certificate for the spot... It gave me a chance to sample almost all the empanadas. Delicious variety with lots of filling. I will definitely be going back!

I haven't actully eaten at this location but they have a pop up kitchen in oracle park and it was some of the best food I've ever had in a ballpark, awesome chicken skewers and mashed taters

I ordered from 9 Julio's Empanadas for an event for 40 alumni in the Bay Area. The reviews from the attendees were really positive. I ordered their farmers market salad, empanadas (vegetarian, meat and dessert), steak, plantain chips, and some other delicious dishes). The process was easy from placing the order to delivery.

I was hosting this event and flying from Los Angeles in a space co-hosted in the Bay Area so I wanted great and delicious food but didn't want to worry about the food logistics. I wanted to worry about the event only.

Had a fun dinner with friends at 9 Julio Empanada Kitchen in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood, my first time there. It’s an informal spot - order and pick up at the counter. We had four kinds of savory empanadas (Chicken Salsa Verde, Cuban Picadillo, Mushroom & Onion, and Spinach & Cheese), Chimichurri Steak, plantain chips, and spiced sweet potatoes, and we each got a different locally-brewed beer - I had an Original Pattern Lucid Illusion Hazy IPA. Everything was really good, and the Cuban Picadillo was my favorite of the empanadas we had. I thought the value for the quality and portions was very good, and I’d gladly come back again.

Very friendly service. A great menu. We enjoyed everything. It may seem minor, but there is real silverware and nice glassware. - that is so unusual for a quick meal place. Next time I'll try the salad we spied at another table , and the chimichurri steak.

But both times I’ve been here it takes an insanely long time to get our food. Which makes no sense since the empanadas are already made, right?
