Very good coffee, nothing fancy. Very good food options (I usually get the shihan ful). Hangout for a portion of the local Eritrean community. Very friendly place.Dietary restrictions: I've gone with a friend who has a serious food allergy. They were great about accommodating.

This small coffee shop carries Eritrean dishes in addition to coffee, sandwiches and pastries. Adjacent to the DMV, the cafe is slightly off the popular Temescal shopping area. It’s clear that the folks here care about the quality and authenticity of their dishes. You should not expect silverware but plastic utensils are provided if requested. The cafe is small but the indoor/outdoor seating atmosphere was great. If you’re as wimpy as I am, you can also tell them to dial down the spiciness of the dish when ordering. Weekend crowds attest to their popularity.

They saw me coming: I ordered 2 vegan dishes and said “not spicy”. The bill came to $30 with tip. I shouldn’t have paid ahead of eating. One of the dishes was served with jalapeños. I reminded the waitress that I told her “not spicy”. She tried to argue with me. I told her I expected a refund. She talked me in to keeping the stew. When I finished and stood @ the cash register the woman there acted like she did not know what happened. She refunded me $13 for a $30 Meal which included a tip. I felt lucky to get any refund but I wish I could have had a refund for the tip. Never again.Vegetarian options: I ordered 2 dishes: 1 a fava bean stew which I couldn’t Eat due to spiciness/jalapenos (I said not spicy to the waitress). The other stew also which was garnished with red onion and green pepper. It was edible. The place was dirty. I had to ask for my table cleaned which did not happen very well. Will not return

Phenomenonal, affordable neighborhood breakfast spot with outdoor seating. Their ful is hearty, wholesome, and tasty. They never miss. No frills but always chill. If you're a lightweight and can't finish the two loaves of bread they give you, take one home and freeze it and pop it in the toaster oven to dip in some olive oil the next time you're feeling sad.

You can smell how good this place is from the DMV! Recommend for the Shihan ful (fava bean and spices) as it's incredibly savory and light
