It was my Mom's 50th birthday and I was looking for a place that does photo cakes. I had 50 different pictures I wanted on the cake and that's when I came across Alice Street Bakery Café. I was skeptical if any bakery would take on such an order, especially on short notice (I had only 3 days to go for the birthday), but all my worries were put to ease as soon as I started talking to them. They made this process absolutely seamless as all I had to do was send them the pictures through WhatsApp. They found the perfect size for the cake, appropriately adjusted and cropped all the various sized pictures, arranged all the photos aesthetically, and even included a custom frosted birthday message which I sent in earlier. I was thrilled by their responsiveness and communication as they constantly kept me in the loop and were easy to reach when I had any concerns. The cake was finished exactly when they said it would, and when I went to pick it up, I couldn't stop smiling because it looked even better than advertised. The best part about it all was that my mom absolutely loved it and it made her day even more special. So a big thank you to Alice Street Bakery Cafe, and I cannot recommend them enough! TLDR: I ordered a 50 photo cake for my mom's 50th birthday, and Alice Street Bakery Cafe did a phenomenal job on a time crunch, all while being transparent and responsive with minimal effort on my end. They are awesome!

From my first inquiry call to the final handoff of a beautifully decorated and carefully packaged cake box, I felt Alice Cafe's tender loving care every strep of the way. I wanted a picture of my dog printed on a cake for her 2nd birthday, and Alice cafe came up as the only east bay bakery that could provide this. I thought I'd just call and place an order, and was pleasantly surprised at the manager's thoughtful questions. Would this be an indoor or outdoor event? Would the cake be displayed without fridgeration for a long time? She then recommended some options given my set up, provided a quote for my choice, and kept me posted on the final designs throughout. Their artisanship speaks for itself (see photos). I look forward to the next special occasion that Alice bakery will help me with

Very cozy place to get a snack. I’ve ordered doordash and physically gone there, and both times the food was excellent! The mysterious volcano, the classic milk tea, and the strawberry smoothie are all delicious and the breakfast sandwiches (both bagel and pineapple bun ones) are amazing and so filling. I would definitely recommend this place for food and boba as they have something for everyone. Also the little positive messages all around are so cheerful ☺️

I always pass by Alice Street Bakery Cafe when I go grocery shopping with my mom over the years and I finally get to try them out recently. I like their Alice in Wonderland theme they have inside. There were a lot of baked goods and cakes to choose from, but I came here to try their boba. I tried their green milk tea with boba. It was decent for a bakery, while it was a bit on the bitter side, it still had a decent creaminess to it. The boba was a bit too chewy/soggy though. I might have to come back to try their baked goods, cakes, and/or desserts next time.

The best bakery in Chinatown. Uncommonly clean for the area, no flies, and they accept credit cards. You can also order through UberEats.

If you ever find yourself with a fancy coffee in hand, farmers market goods in your bag, waiting patiently in line at Bake Sum (they're great, love the vision but respect is due where it's due...) , well, you first need to pay homage to Alice Street Bakery Cafe.Alice Street Bakery is the OG!!! This is where it all starts. This is the quintessential Cantonese bakery satisfying all your sweet and savory bun, custom cakes, and drink needs. Everything is exactly as it should be: perfectly set up with a couple tables for your Cantonese uncles and grandpas to mull over tea and cakes during their morning chats, while the young kids ogle over pretty slices of cake in the front, and regulars hustle in and out with their favorite buns. This is not precious, butter-laden, French-inspired pastry culture. This is Cantonese baking at its best, its most original, and yet perfectly situated for our modern times. AND the staff is surprisingly, ridiculously, helpful and sweet. We need to keep places like Alice Street Bakery alive and, trust me, we will be back many many times again. And tip them well!!!

Stopped by the pick up some tea and little slice of dessert to go with them, spacious store that you could hangout. They also sell packaged snacks, which is nice. Love the tea and dessert a lot as they are at perfect sweetness level.

You have to try their Shrimp Burger with Spicy Mayo! It’s big enough to share for two people and the best in the Bay Area!

You have to try their Shrimp Burger with Spicy Mayo! It's big enough to share for two people and the best in the Bay Area! For to go, they separate lettuce, tomato and the tempura battered shrimp patty to keep it crispy. You'll love that crunch when you take your first bite into it!

The milk tea tastes like it was diluted with tap water, and the boba used is the cheap, mushy kind with zero flavor. Worst boba I've ever tried.
