If you want fresh, thoughtfully prepared Italian dishes, this local neighborhood restaurant with the same chef/owners consistently provides flavorful, inventive ingredients for appetizers, pastas, other entrees and desserts. We moved to Southern CA a few years ago but made a point to stop here while visiting and it hadn't changed. We enjoyed a very delicious meal once again. The wait staff are also friendly and knowledgeable. Great Oakland mainstay.
Wide variety and selection selection of wines by the glass, more than your typical Chardonnay Cabernet or rosé. Evolving menu highlight seasonal dishes. Happy hour a big plus, with appetizers and wines at a good value, as is the tasting menu with four courses.. Service is professional and personable. Excellent suggestions from the servers for wine pairing for the menu.
The food is always good there. Now, they have a $45 prefix that is an incredible value. Only problem was that it was too loud. A lot of it had to do with the two guys that were sitting next to us that were hard of hearing.
