One of the first things I did when I started visiting the SFO area for work was to looking for African food. Glad I found this spot. Amazing food and great vibes

After having Senegalese food in both Senegal and in nyc, the food here is NOT authentic Senegalese and was a big disappointment. The food has your typical SF prices. I'm really surprised that there are such high reviews for this place. However, the service was fine. I don't plan on ever coming back here.

Little Baobab is a fun West African Restaurant with live music in the Mission District! They feature local musicians they play songs from around the world. Last night (Wednesday at 8:30pm) they had a live band playing Afro beats and salsa! Lots of people went up to dance. The food was also amazing. We ordered the Chicken Yassa (chicken with caramalized onion), Lamb Dibi Combo (grilled lamb) and Beef Pastelles (fried plantains). The owner, Marco, was super friendly and recommended the best dishes! Our server, Koudous was awesome too. We had a great experience!

There are so many combinations that makes this place fantastic. The food is 10/10 the music just adds a great dynamic that has made this place one of the funnest restaurants in the city. You can dance with a great band while you wait for your food. I haven't found anything like this in SF or even LA. Such an enjoyable experience I plan on bringing anyone who visits the city to Little Baobab. It is now a staple for me. Great community, great food, great music - it's unbeatable. I will be back as long as i'm in SF.

Fabulous little place!! After covid they have downsized but the coco rum and the food is delish as always. We went on a Thursday night and they had a live music outside which was wayyyyyy better than a concert. Appetizers were finger licking too. Do yourself a favor and try out this place. You won't be disappointed

There is a peanut tofu meal here, very good. My body feel very good after this. The place is decorated. I went with my friend and his girlfriend, so there was 3 of us. Very bad idea, going to dinner with a couple. Meghan and Scott have many many drinks, they are both alcoholic.

This is a great West African place in the mission. Great vibe and amazing food. We were here for a birthday and ordered a variety of authentic dishes. Everything was fantastic, especially the Seafood CoCo and the lamb Afro Tacos. This was the first time I've had Fufu and it was terrific, perfect for the savory carb hound that I am. The sautéed banana dessert and the ginger margarita were a nice finish to a great meal. I highly recommend this place for anyone that wants some other than the standard SF chow.

This was the first time I tried West African food and I am sold. The Pastelles with spinach and feta was a favorite as well as the banana flambé dessert with butter, rum and vanilla ice cream. We can't wait to come back and try the Ceebu Jen!

The atmosphere here is so colorful and different from most others places and seems like a nice quaint atmosphere! I've been wanting to try new cuisines and I was excited to try a Senegalese Restaurant! The appetizer I had was Aloko, which are fried plantains with a sauce on the side. They were the sweet kind of plantains and were nice and moist. Not dry, as some other places may have them. They had a good flavor, but not overpowering, as plantains in my experience are a more mellow food. The Riz Au Cari was recommended to me by the waitress/cashier. I got the variety of Riz Au Cari with Lamb and Jollof rice on the side. The dish itself has a curry sauce with various veggies. The meat was savory and moist, but not too tender. The Jollof rice was moist and delicious, and melded well as a side dish, as it wasn't overpowering. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many ingredients used here which I am used to in Puerto Rican cuisine. This included the plantains and even some root-type vegetables! I typically am not the biggest fan of eating some of those special root-type veggies, but they were delicious with the right texture. I especially want to shout out the waitress/cashier! She said her name is pronounced like "media" but I didn't catch the spelling. She was very patient in explaining all of the best food options and even brought some samples of the drinks and dish sauces to some people in our party find something we like! I haven't hardly ever seen that. I really appreciated her. I'll definitely come here again!

Delicious vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes! We had vegan Mafé and vegan Yassa as main dishes. When you get the dishes it looks like there are chunks of meat. When you press on the chunks they have the consistency of bread. But they're not meat or bread. They're delicious pieces of akkara / acara -- spiced vegan and gluten-free black-eyed pea fritters. So good! We also had Alloko (plantains) with homemade tamarind yogurt sauce (the sauce was the only non-vegan item) and we had the homemade ginger pineapple drinks. What a feast! It was all so delicious, but Little Baobab's Yassa is the dish that will bring me back again and again. Heavenly!

I've been wanting to try Little Baobab for a while now, and last week I was able to try them out, oof soo delicious! I went with my mom and sister so we tried a few dishes and I kid you not the flavors where so pack full ! Missing no seasonings baby !! We had the : Aloko- plátanos maduros fried Baobab gambas - shrimp with an amazing curry sauce (this was my favorite) Mafe with akara (akara is black eyed peas, almost like tofu texture but better and flavorful) Seafood coco - oooff, the light creamy ness of the coco takes you to heaven !! Soo good!! And the drinks were healthy and good too!! I recommend stopping by and grabbing a plate, the staff and chef were very hospitable and welcoming! Try them out !! ( I know I'll be back, that's forsure) Don't wait, I'm serious !
