The food didn't taste like authentic soul food. It didn't taste bad but it didn't taste authentic. The food could have been a bit more flavorful as well. Lastly, I dinned there to support a BIPOC business, but unfortunately it's NOT owned by a BIPOC.
First impression was great. Quaint place with a small dining area but also offers an outdoor patio. Nice vibe. Dining area was full of patrons enjoying their meals. My partner and I ordered at the Counter. The food was amazing and tasted well cooked and fresh. Unfortunately there was a small mis communication between other our order which they tried to remedy and we ended up getting served in Togo containers when we asked to be seated. Always super yummy! Had the shrimp and grits and a half order of the bananas foster french toast. The french toast was so good it should be illegal. Also the molasses and walnut iced coffee is delicious as well. I tend to stay away from the beignets here because they’re so dense and dry to me and don’t compare to real NoLa beignets.
