Use caution if you have food allergies. Food is good and priced well, but there are several good restaurants across the street that might be safer.Dietary restrictions: Use caution if you have allergies. One cook told me the fries are gluten free, another told me they are not. It incredibly concerning that a cafe in a hospital can't get this right.

I LOVE this cafe. Every time I have an appt at Kaiser I make it a point to eat here. Everything is good plus Peets coffee. What I REALLY appreciate is the usual very quiet dining room. Very peaceful.

Kaiser Permanente Broadway Cafe*****Food: Excellent cafeteria food made with fresh and healthy ingredients. They have hot dishes, fresh fruit, coffee, antioxidant drinks, a beverage bar, a soup bar, cookies, and low-calorie ice cream.***** Ambience: Really good for cafeteria. There is lots of space for social distancing. There are also large windows that you can sit by and watch the world by.**** Cost: is reasonable.*** Accessibility: there is great access for people in wheelchairs. Parking can be difficult during busy times of the day. There is an eight story parking garage that took me 15 minutes to find a parking spot at 11 in the morning on a Thursday.***** Service: it is self service for the coffee, the drinks, fresh fruit, packaged items, and the hot food is served by servers that are behind the counter. Check out with the cashier is easy.Bonus points for having large, well labeled bins for disposal of compostable items and trash. Also, the restaurant looked impeccably clean.

I'm surprised that Kaiser doesn't require the vendor that runs this hospital cafeteria to post allergens or ingredients with the food offerings. I had very mixed results when I asked if certain dishes contained wheat. Most servers don't seem to understand or just don't know, and the manager didn't really seem to care. The way he just threw the answer at me in passing did not make me feel safe and comfortable enough to eat the food. It's stressful enough to be in the medical center/ hospital. I shouldn't have to worry if the food is going to make me sick
