Amazing mozzarella sticks! They are huge! Their turkey burger is to-die-for too! Topped with cranberry and lots of fresh fixings. They have the best customer service too!

It's with sadness to see buttercup on Cotton street close. The employees are wonderful. I'm so sad best breakfast place ever. We will visit all other buttercup locations.

Its an ol school diner out in east oakland, off the 23rd avenue exit...on the alameda side Very chill, very ma & pa kind place ...sort of like a dennys Not a huge dining room area but roomy enough to have an area with a bar It is good for brunch and dinner because they have a variety of eats on their menu ..enough for the whole family to choose from

Shrimp and grits are the best ive had! Our waiter was very attentive, made sure we were satisfied with their food. Im scared to dine there because of parking. Make sure to either leave your belongs at home or take them with you when you go to dine in.

Very good breakfast! Had the French toast and tried biscuits& gravy and both were very good. Biscuits were very heavy & filling so beware! Lol Definitely will eat here again, would like to try dinner menu!

Good standard diner fare. I've tried several entrees from here so far: California burger, Prime Rib, Caesar salad with blackened salmon, and one of their pastas. Prices range from about $13 to $25 for dishes. My favorite was the Prime Rib (about $24) for a nicely cooked slab that was also tender and juicy. It comes with 2 sides, bread/roll, and a side salad (caesar or house). They're also known for their dessert pies and baked muffins. Very popular spot for weekend brunch too. This location is in a secluded industrial area, next to the 880 Freeway. You might cross over a freeway exit, and/or have to make an immediate turn from the freeway or opposite direction, so be alert and careful driving while getting here. They have their own private parking lot so there's plenty of space. Attached photo is the Reuben sandwich which my friend really enjoyed.

Had brunch here on a holiday. This place has a big parking lot. We were seated right away. We sat at an outdoor tables on the deck with an umbrella that provided us some shade, which was perfect for sunny Oakland. The server was nice and offered some water in a bowl for the small dog we had with us, and two people brought food to our table all at once. The waffle and sausage was good. I asked for my eggs over medium and that was exactly how they were cooked.

I love this place for a big crowd. They always have space and this location has tons of parking. But they don't have any vegan options. We'll they have the standard sad French fries, gardenburger, and side salad. But either way everyone was happy and the food never disappoints.

Each time I am in the Oakland area I ways make my way to ButtercuP, And the food and service keeps getting better and better! My server today was Sandra and she was on point , I did not have e to ask her for one thing , she was on her JOB! The food was really , really good and my plate was clean ,nothing left . Again if you ever get to Oakland go to the Cotton St location for the best food and the best service!

Typical diner food with typical Diner service. No Michelin stars will ever be earned here. The burger was good, one of the chicken wings wasn't fully warmed. I'm guessing they warm them up in a microwave because it was hot on the outside but cold near the Bone but the other eight were fine. Our server was nice enough but after she brought our food we didn't see her until the end of the meal when she checked to see if we wanted anything else before she brought the check.

Outside dining ? you have a view of the boats/water. Food was served hot and on time. Staff patience was nice to a tourist. A little pricey but I am will to come back and try the breakfast.

One of my all-time favorite comfort spots. I don't have a lot of money, but I want a lot of food and great service with a smile, this is where I come. The food is fast, fresh, and just what you need to tuck in especially after a long night out. I always have leftovers!

The food here has gone downhill. Blame covid, inflation, employee abuse. But there is no excuse for the disgusting presentation of shrimp and grits. You just need to spend a few minutes peeling the shrimp completely, then wrapping them up in bacon, crispying them properly. You don't need to submerge them in that bland, watery (marinara?) sauce.
