The shrimp and grits are tasty. I don’t understand why the entire staff is Hispanic-like most Mexican restaurants they only hire Hispanic folks so if we are not good enough to work here I won’t spend my money here
Definitely a must when you’re in Oakland
This is a good diner type experience family-owned small chain. The food is consistent and we go there often.

Buttercup offers a great variety of brunch choices, although it can get very busy on weekends with a wait list. Some of the sweet items, like the banana fontaine French toast, are extremely sweet. The churro waffles are a must-try and are always a hit with guests. The service is generally fantastic, with attentive waitstaff who are friendly and nice. The restaurant is kid-friendly, featuring a kids menu and activities for the little ones. While parking can be a bit of a challenge, there is wheelchair accessibility and handicap parking available. The overall experience at Buttercup is positive, with hot and fresh food that is plentiful and tasty, making it a favorite spot for brunch in the heart of London.
