Order two different soups and both tasted like they had no soup stock. Just water. Ordered a rice soup with seafood. The shrimp tasted like it'd been frozen and unfrozen and packed taste. The barbecue duck and chicken was okay but I highly recommend looking at another restaurant nearby. They're using the cheapest ingredients and it shows.

An authentic Hong Kong-style BBQ diner. Mediocre in HK standard, but above average on the East Bay. Their char siu BBQ pork and crispy pork are some of the best in China Town.

The food is good - but the price on the menu is very confusing for the BBQ meats which will trick you to pay the same price but get half of the product. For example - BBQ meats to go for 11.55 / lb, if your order the same item, they gave you a small plate looks around 0.5 lb but make you pay the same price. When we asked they mumbled - we have no problem paying, but just can’t understand why the same dish will be reduced in half when eating inside. Please be cautious if you are dining in - just order all the BBQ stuff to go. Hope this is helpful.

0) Taste is awesome

1) Price confusion
BBQ listed as $11.55 per lb
Dine in $11.55 per dish which is way less than 1lb

2) Minimal 15% enforced tip

Dietary restrictions: Note the price difference between dine-in and take-out it is undocumented

This is the $9.50 breakfast. The price is amazing.
Comes with noodle soup, choice of meat, and drink. They give you the duck separate from the noodle so that it maintains crispy skin and flavor. This is a thoughtful touch that I don’t see often.
By this, I think the other bbq would be good. It’s my first time trying this place.

Was chuffed the BBQ rice comes with a bowl of soup (the kind your mom makes in a big pot at home), both were authentic and yummy. ? I've tried a few different bbq pork places in Oakland and SF, and this place ranks in my Top 3.

Tip for if you’re eating in: walk straight in and make as if to seat yourself, they’ll move you if needed. Otherwise, you’ll get stuck in the takeout line like me. ?

Unexpectedly, the barbecued pork rice will also come with a bowl of soup, just like the Laohuo soup that my mother makes at home. I am very happy to be able to eat such delicious barbecued pork and drink such delicious soup in one lunch. ? (Note: If you want to dine in, don’t think about me wasting time waiting in line for takeout! ?)

I came here with my parents to get brunch. When we sat down, the waitress didn’t even bother giving us menus. My dad had to get up to grab menus from the BBQ counter. One of the waitresses finally came to our table to drop off utensils, napkins and take our orders. We advised the waitress that she only dropped off utensils for 2 people, she said she would be back with a 3rd. I ordered a wonton soup with char siu pork. My parents ordered a roast duck and roast chicken rice plate. I also asked for a glass of ice water which never appeared. My parents food arrived within 15 minutes, I waited for another 15 minutes for my soup to arrive. When the soup arrived, it did not have any char siu pork. I also told the waitress that I don’t have utensils and the soup is missing an item but the waitress walked away. By now, my parents are almost finished with their food and I’m still trying to get a waitresses attention. I had to stand up and chase a waitress down by the kitchen with my soup in hand. While explaining to her that my soup is missing an item, I have no utensils and I’m still waiting for my water; the waitress had the nerve to yell back that they are extremely busy and that she has no time to attend to my needs. After sitting back down, I had to wait for another 10 minutes before I was served my char siu pork separately and I still did not have utensils or the water I ordered. I told the cook that delivered my char siu pork that their service is absolute BS due to the fact that it took almost an hour for them to get a complete soup to a table. My utensils finally arrived but when I asked for my water the waitress just walked away.

The food was fine but the waitress who’s a little aged and with long hair got the worst service in the world. Just quit if you don’t want to serve people, oh my god.

Very slow, bad attitude, small portion and overpriced tips. Want water and doesn’t response long time. Give them how big face they charged at least 15% tips.?

Average HK barbecue place. Their roast duck is good and tasty. Fish balls are okay but kind of overpriced. Their porridge is somewhat below average.

NOT RECOMMENDED ?Over priced food for a super small portion. The $40(plus tax is $45) for 3 dishes special comes in a very small portion of food. Not worth the money. That’s like $15 for one tiny dish. I would recommend another restaurant nearby which is $40 after tax, it comes in a full size portion of food and tastes way better than this restaurant!
