Best fish taco I've ever had!! Beautiful setting as well, in a nice area of Oakland (we do have nice areas, it's not all tent cities like media would have you believe)

Parking: There are a bunch of places nearby, a lot of cool little stores

Kid-friendliness: Safe and I saw a lot of children around

Doña's food is superb! My friends like it for their vegetarian and vegan options, which didn't matter to me until I tasted them. Their relleno is one of the best dishes I've ever tasted!

Vegetarian options: Cool staff, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, alcohol, and specialty drinks.

Wheelchair accessibility: The building (shared with a few other businesses) has an elevator to reach upstairs indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are also available on the ground floor.

The food is pretty good. Their bowls are yummy and a great deal. The drinks are good, too. I plan to go back. The only thing I didn't like is that I paid an extra $5 to add veggies to my burrito, and they just added a couple of pieces of pumpkin.

Lovely little restaurant at the end of Piedmont avenue. Lots of space. Indoor and outdoor. Food is very nice and they serve you quick. You have to order up at the front. There's no table service.

Can get crowded and the inside may be a little bit noisy but overall a lovely place to visit on Piedmont avenue.

This place is so incredibly fire it’s so good, the service is also SO quick like it looks like it will take a while because the line is sometimes long but the food comes out so fast and it’s so good and omg I just can’t even describe it this is one of my favorite places of all time. It’s also nice to sit in, especially upstairs. Yum!!!

Food is very middling - queso is closer to ballpark than good Mexican, dishes like enchiladas don't come with any beans / rice / sides, burritos are less a plated meal and more in foil like takeout, etc. They have not-very-good 'batch' margaritas for a whopping $14, and more normal made-at-the-bar ones for a $1 upsell.

The bar is too busy and servers there mostly avoid your gaze until they have time, which keeps you a good bit longer than you'd really like.

If you're looking for a decent sit-down mexi joint, I'd skip and find something else.

The food is delicious, but what I love best about Dona is you can always find a table, even with a good sized group!

A wonderful dining experience filled with savory dishes and dialed-in staff. Prices are very reasonable, cocktails well-crafted and some great beers on tap. This is one of the rare places you can find a Chile Relleno that's baked, not breaded and deep fried.

The tacos were good but in desperate need of some kind of sauce ?. Service was fast but I wouldn’t suggest a large tip for solely having my food brought to me. Cute spot for cocktails tho.

Dona makes excellent Mexican food. Like, really, really good. Very fresh ingredients, simple but delicious preparation, and their margaritas are essentially perfect. Service is only a 4 because they bring your food to you, but you order at the counter. But mark my words - Dona isn't just a taqueria. The food is better than 99% of taquerias. I hate to call it "elevated," because they don't do weird/alternate versions of taqueria classics. They make regular taqueria classics. They just do it with much better ingredients and excellent preparation. The tacos are my favorite, but if you go on the weekend they make an epic pozole that rivals Gallardo's in SF, which is pretty much the gold standard for the bay area...I've never had a disappointing meal at Dona. It's simply one of my favorites.
