Doña is beautiful and has a great summer patio, but service and food is somewhat mid.

The patio and outside is absolutely gorgeous - it is one of the best outdoor dining spots in good weather. They have some heaters in winter, plus gorgeous lights. Inside is also beautiful!
The food is fine. It's not the best carnitas or enchiladas ever. Their fish tacos are excellent. Servings are small for the price, but get, it's the Bay Area I guess?
The service and upstairs only bathroom and self serve utensils etc is a little clunky.

You haven’t lived until you’ve Doña’d. Just say Doña to anyone in the area and everyone just goes, “oh my gosh, I love that place!!”
Genuinely come to this place all the time and am never disappointed. The nachos are in my dreams at night and so are the passionfruit margaritas. The sopa is also a standby fav for me. Service is almost so quick it’s suspect but I’m a fan because there is never a long wait.
My entire extended family does “Satur-Doña” at least twice a month and it’s become a fun tradition. Family friendly, always good, an Oakland Establishment and must try.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after seeing the great reviews and walking by the restaurant a few times. We split a pollo asada burrito and both of us left still hungry. The food came quickly, but the burrito was very middle of the line, not to mention small for the price. There was only beans, meat, and rice in it and there was really no outstanding flavors. We also got the strawberry horchata which had the flavor and consistency of a thin strawberry smoothie. We wanted some chips and salsa but didn't want to pay an additional $8 for them. We won't be back, even though the atmosphere and interior of the restaurant was very cool. Also, it is all self serve. You walk up to the cashier who takes your order and they deliver it, but you have to get your own silverware and bus the table yourself. Not necessarily a downside, but just an fyi as we didn't realize this and were a bit confused when we walked in.

I love everything Doña. However, they need to bring back the passion fruit margarita. It’s the very best margarita anywhere. The guava replacement is meh. Please please please bring back the passion fruit. My friends & I used to go to doña just for that drink!

Really good patio. Good tacos with lots of meat. Good drinks. Tacos are a bit expensive but they do come with a lot of meat. Also has a covered patio on lower level.

y review isnt about the food. Honestly the dishes are well made and worth the price. Service is fair and typically runs smooth.
My only complaint is with the parking and somewhat organozed crime going on. You MUST pay for parking at all times. The parking lot is private and does not belong to Doña. The parking lot is poorly lit and signs are not very visible. Doña posts signs with all kinds of info but nowhere is there information about the parking. I think as customers and them knowing whats going on, they could help patrons out by informing them at the very least when paying.

We like the food and are regulars but the online payment system for takeout has been terrible for ages, even with the updates. Why should I have to create an account with you to eat at your restaurant? Why are you saving my credit card information in your system? Please get a normal system soon, such a hassle.
