My first time here in Oakland and I thought I’d get fish fit for a KING! The worst experience ever!! Fish looked delicious, tasted like old oil mixed with propane. Then tried to fool me with the dirty rice!! Gave me some yellow rice, sprinkled meat on top with Cajun seasoning that all stayed on the top of the container. Wasn’t even mixed in… my bosses food is in the trash he said he started to feel sick. Do us all a favor, take king out of the name….don't try using prince either. Better yet just close shop. Thank you for the lasting nightmare experience.

I bought the oyster combo with DoorDash and I absolutely loved the deep fried oysters. The fried breading was very tasty and the oysters tasted like they were cooked just right.
I chose potato salad for the side, I liked it, however, I do not know if they make it fresh.
The combo also comes with a Shasta brand soda, but cola and lemon lime are the only offered flavors.
I definitely want to order from here again.

My babies dad likes to take me here sometimes for something quick and good ,their fried fish ,shrimp ,and chicken is good very flavorful they’re greens are preening good too especially to be vegetarian they are very flavorful. I’ve had their bean pies and their sweet potato pies. Pretty good as well. Definitely will help you if you’re having a fried food craving.

This is going to be a difficult review, primarily because the dudes at this place is so nice. The service is phenomenal. But I don't come here for the social aspect. My partner and I's favorite fish spot is in Vallejo. Reason being is after 22 yrs of being in Oakland we still haven't found a stellar fish place. So today we decided to try something new...give Oakland another chance. This was the place we decided based on the reviews.The fried snapper was overcooked, old, frozen fish. So dry the fish itself dried up to a little strip within the overly crisp batter. It also carried that old fish smell. Like either they've been using the same oil for a minute or the fish is just been thawed for a min.They provide a side and a corn muffin with the meal. The muffin was dry and processed. I chose the greens as a side and they were o-k. Quite honestly the greens were the best part of the meal. I also come from a long line of Black soul food cooks so standards are high. It seems like this place is trying to cook soul food but it's missing the soul.Once again the guys at this place are super cool and just on that I've given 2 stars. The ambiance and experience you get once you visit this place is part of the appeal.
