Our favorite almost-local pizza place. Particularly loved the Italiano. Really high-quality ingredients, well-made thin crust pizza and great service. Just a one-person operation on the day we went. We also pick up pizza dough kits from our local market, which are perfect for easy dinner nights.
Fist of Flour catered my parent’s surprise birthday party last weekend and I couldn’t wait to leave my review. Every detail was seamless. James, the owner, was communicative, reasonable, helpful and creative with some of our unique requests (i.e. waiting down the block with his large mobile oven to not ruin the surprise). I’m surprised by all the high ratings. Maybe we just caught them on an off day, but the pizza was pretty underwhelming. Crust was thin, but not crisp like New York style. Also wasn’t Italian style, as it was pretty bland.I much prefer Mama’s Boy for New York style and Lucia’s for Italian.
