The small plates were delish. The ambiance was awesome too. I went because they're closing and I've always wanted to go. My mom Flora passed away 3 months ago and I wanted to make sure I made it.

Perfect for dinner spot before watching a show at the Fox theater. It's trendy but not over the top hip.The drinks are excellent and the food is nothing to complain about. The only problem that you'll have is with reservation. Most likely the prime time slots on a show night will be taken up. But if you don't care for the opening bands, then it should be much easier (reservation at 7:30pm - walk across to see the headline by 9pm).

Great food very friendly staff

Nothing special. Perfunctory service, stuffy atmosphere because of no air conditioning. 85 degrees inside the restaurant during our dinner. Only thing it has going for it-it's across the street from the Fox Theater.

Disappointing! Ahhhh! At best just okay. Menu needs a major uplift, service just okay! Drinks were good, that's about it. We were here a few years ago and had a delish skirt steak which is no longer available..sad!

So I order me a Hennessy which shows $12 price tag on the menu but because I order it mix with Coke in the same glass I get an extra $2 charge, really? Never again!!!

About a month ago a coworker and I came here to kill time due to 12th and 19th street BART stations being shut down due to a possible active shooter situation. Flora had just opened for dinner service. We did not have reservations so we were seated right away. Flora had always been on my wishlist to eat at so when I discovered Brown Sugar Kitchen was open that day to try for the second time, I settled with Flora for us to go to. We both ordered the burger and shared the focaccia. My coworker wasn't a fan of the focaccia but I basically ate the rest of it myself. Her burger wasn't cooked to her liking (pink), but I found mine to be a delight. Can't remember how much it cost but it was simple. Everything else didn't really catch my eye so I can't imagine I would be back here unless the menu changed, but the burger and ambience was A-OK.

An update since the advent of a new chef. The food is fine still, mind you, but nothing special. It's lost its flair. We always looked forward to a stop on show night (it's across from the Fox Theater) because we knew there's always be something new, some innovative take on a dish. The wait staff is as good as ever - and that's VERY good - but I miss the food.

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary and we couldn't have had a better experience. The staff was great, attentive, personal but not intrusive! The food was wonderful (try the caramel pudding, it is fantastic)! They even printed a special menu with "Happy Anniversary!" for us. Thank you for FLora! We'll be back ;-)

Made dinner reservations for when they opened at 5:30 with a 7:00 show to make and things worked out well. We'd already stopped for drinks across the street before hand, but I did enjoy one, the Pop Your Cherry. We started with the arancini and corn bob tomato broth. The deep fried risotto was well prepared with the delicacy need to keep it from being too greasy or heavy. We wish the broth had more corn taste, especially with corn in season right now, but it was still good. I chose the meatballs and polenta and was pleased with them. Without pasta and only cubes of polenta, I was worried about whether it would hold up on its own, but it did so superbly. Pasta would have been too much. My wife had the duck plate, which was only half good. The duck was rather bland, but the liver pate toast made up for it. We finished with the pavlova and the orange curd worked well in place of the usual lemon curd. Overall there was room for improvement, but we'd be willing to go back for another meal.
