This place feels a bit like Cheers but depending on the day or night and what season it is can get a bit stuffy and occasionally agro. Of course we all love the entertainment and living vicariously through sports. What I’ve noticed at George & Walt’s (RIP) Is that whenever (every time) the customers get passionate, consider not caring. The other thing I noticed, is the people that play billiards(clearly daily players) take it real serious. I would not advise putting your name on the board unless you’re prepared to win or lose.
Oh Yeah, I’m reviewing the food, a seperate but connected food truck w/out wheels that actually serves up some decent grub.
I suggest checking the specials if available… Decent Burger, average + wings, awesome chicken strips if one requests less salt. Salads, pretty pretty good.

Though I’ve lived in Rockridge for 8 years, tonight was my first visit to George and Walt’s to watch a game. Even though my team lost, I had an incredible time. We came in after kick-off started and the owner? bent over backwards to find me and my 2 sisters seats to watch though it was already packed, she found 3 chairs out of nowhere and made us feel like family. The bartender was so friendly and attentive, the food was an unexpected delight and everyone there including the regulars made us feel so very welcome. I imagine this is as close as you can get to a having a local British pub, everyone was so kind. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Had a great time at George & Walt’s last week. This might be my new spot, especially on game day! Very diverse & friendly crowd. Food was yummy! Drinks were great (except they ran out of my peach crown 😂). Bartenders were hella cool.

Good place to play pool, they have 2 tables. Just make sure to monitor your name on the queue because people will likely try to skip you or even erase your name. If you play Mo, watch for the double hit foul. They do have good equipment for a bar though. Drinks are good although not too generous on the pours... The food is almost always good.

A great place for, pool, watch sports, music, food, drinks (alcohol and non), singing, dancing and most important for New & Seasoned friends to meet and let your hair down.
This was a fun bar to stop by to watch the Penn State football game and play pool. We ordered a pitcher of Death & Taxes black beer to share which was delicious. It wasn’t busy during the time we went but would be a good place to just hang out and grab few beers with friends.

Only bar I frequent now. Food smacks, drinks are made right, service is great and there is always a good mix of regulars and people just looking for a drink. Johnny, Fred, HB, Katy and the rest of staff deserve all the love.
