I was craving spicy marinated crab so badly lately — and I can’t believe I found such a gem so close to home after living here for a year!
Their spicy marinated crab is amazing: super fresh, soft, and flavorful. Wrap it with rice and seaweed, or just mix it into a big bowl of rice — it’s heaven.
We also tried their Hanshin Dakbal (spicy braised chicken feet), pork mozzarella cheese fondue, and sweet & spicy fried chicken. Everything was delicious, well-cooked, and full of flavor.
Definitely one of my new favorite Korean spots in Oakland. Can’t wait to come back again!
Hanshin Dakbal 👏👏👏👏👏
Spicy stir-fried chicken feet—super flavorful and tender! Served sizzling in an iron pan, incredibly satisfying. Must pair with rice and take a big bite.
Gochu Maneul Chicken 👏👏👏👏👏
Sweet and savory garlic soy fried chicken—crispy outside, juicy inside. Every piece is evenly coated in sauce. Absolutely delicious!
Spicy Marinated Crab 👏👏👏👏
Authentic seasoning. Personally, I don’t find it very spicy. Love mixing the crab meat and sauce into rice and adding some crushed seaweed. So good!
DIY Rice Ball 👏👏👏👏👏
Golden tuna rice balls are a must! You can make them smaller, but we were lazy and made four giant lion heads 😂
Fishcake Soup 👏👏
Soup is fresh, but the fishcake texture is a bit firm—kind of like tofu.
Gummy Bear Soju 👏👏👏👏👏
Surprised they serve soju with gummy bears! Definitely eat the gummies after drinking—somehow tastes even better! 🍻
Randomly stumbled into this restaurant while my husband and I visit the Berkeley for the summer. Omg this place is soo good that we drove to here twice in two weeks!! Almost becomes our comfort food now! And they close at 11 pm! Their spicy chicken feet stew is soo good, as well as both their fried chicken and japchae. Highly recommend it
Grilled Whole Squid: The portion was huge—it caught my attention. The flavor was super rich and deeply marinated. It’s that kind of chewy squid that still bites clean.
Hanshin Dakbal (Korean Spicy Chicken Feet): fall-off-the-bone spicy chicken feet. The heat really hits if you’re into spicy food—you have to try it! (And don’t worry, if you can’t handle spicy , they provide clear soup to dip and balance it out!)
Sweet & Spicy Boneless Fried Chicken + Fried Rice Cake: The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy inside. It’s sweet and spicy in flavor (but really not spicy at all!). The rice cakes were a surprise—crispy outside but soft inside, nothing like the usual sticky kind I don’t like. What’s amazing is that they still taste good even after sitting for a while!
Bulgogi Hot Pot: The sweet-savory balance was just right, and yes—you can drink the soup! Inside were beef and mushroom glass noodles, super tender and flavorful.
DIY Rice Balls: These were so fun to make! You mix and shape them yourself. They give you tons of crispy seaweed that smells incredible once mixed, plus a generous drizzle of mayo—rich, savory, and satisfying in every bite!
P.S. Looks like their soy marinated raw crab is a signature dish, but unfortunately we don’t eat raw seafood, so we skipped it. If you like it, definitely go for it! This place is close late too, perfect for drink soju and late night dinner with friends.
The food was extremely spicy and tasted like low-quality microwave frozen meals. It felt unfresh and poorly prepared. On top of that, the environment was terrible—really dark and uninviting inside. We ordered a soap, chicken foot and a rice. which cost around $40 per person, that is definitely not cheap for this kind of quality.
I ordered the kimchi stew with rice. It was delicious! I was burning alive, but it was worth it. Needs more rice though.
I also ordered the beef brisket soft tofu stew with rice. There was no egg even though the image had one and there was barely any beef…

Great place to spend time with a group of friends. Great ambiance and service. Stews were delicious, but marinated crab lacked roe and more flavor. No complimentary side dishes.

Food was delicious. Might be my favorite Korean spot in the Bay Area. The kimchi fried rice was mixed with cheese and the flavor was not overpowering. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy. The real winners were the tteokbokki and kimchi jigae. I want to go back.

Rice was rancid and undercooked. Marinaded crab smelled weird with no roe. The server did switch out the rice for me.. but I felt paranoid the whole night worrying about food safety

I ordered Spicy Chicken feet, Fried Chicken Gizzards. The chicken feet was decent. However, they sent me soggy gizzards. I tracked my orders in live. It only took 9 mins from restaurant to me. It is either they cooked wrong or already cooked.

Came here for food and drinks with my brother in-law and his girlfriend, the food was really good and the service was quick. The drinks kept coming, good time when you have good food and good friends.

Recommended dishes: Hanshin Tongdak Korean-Style Fried Whole Chicken, Kimchi Stew
I arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 PM on a Sunday to find it relatively quiet with no waiting time. Opting for a variety of dishes, including soy sauce raw crab, Korean Fried Chicken, grilled squid, kimchi fried rice, and a boiled egg, our anticipation was high.
Regrettably, the culinary experience did not meet expectations. The soy sauce raw crab lacked the anticipated sweetness and flavor profile. While the grilled squid and boiled egg were deemed acceptable, they failed to impress. The kimchi fried rice was notably oversalted, detracting from its overall appeal.
Moreover, the service aspect left much to be desired. Despite the modest occupancy, there was a considerable delay in food service, surpassing 30 minutes. Additionally, a communication lapse occurred with our waiter, resulting in the incorrect order being brought to our table. Subsequently, there was a notable absence of apology or acknowledgment for the oversight.
In summary, while the restaurant offered a diverse selection of Korean cuisine, the underwhelming flavors and service shortcomings detracted from the overall dining experience. As a result, I am disinclined to revisit this establishment, as it fell short of meeting the expected standards of culinary excellence and service professionalism.

Super fun and lively pocha, with tons of delicious food too! The seating is open and spacious, and the ambiance is great, feels just like a pocha in Korea. Not to mention, the food is bomb! ? My favorite item was the spicy pork belly with cheese; the pancakes and marinated crab ? (their specialty) are super good too. Definitely an awesome place to hang out with friends and grab some great drinks and food!??
Clean Korean pub vibe. Food was great and service was above and beyond. We tried tomato sauce geran-mari, diy rice ball, fried rice, pork bbq with cheese, soy marinated blue crab, and jeon gol (like Korean army stew). Pork BBQ with cheese is is must have. Soy marinated crab was pretty good. Tomato sauce geran-mari was beyond pur expectation good. Fried rice didn't come out as grilling hot as expected and was spicier than we expected (we were expecting crunchy scorched fried rice on the hot stone but ours wasn't that hot as temperature wise) The service was above and beyond. They were very good at giving us water. Our bbq pork and cheese got cold and hard as we had a variety of food on our table to enjoy. I asked if we could get it reheated. They happily reheated for us AND gave us more cheese (I believe they may of overheard us with low spicy tolerance and accommodated us). I strongly recommend this Korean Pocha especially for late evening cravings and social gatherings.
