The best Chinese food in Oakland and the sesame bean balls are the best.

Holly’s has very high standards and reliably serves fresh, authentic dishes. For example, sweet/savory entrees are flavored with plum sauce, steamed fish is served with meticulously julienned green onion and ginger on still slightly crispy bok choy, Mongolian beef has excellent texture and a richly flavorful sauce- not just salty and super hot as in other restaurants. Once we discovered Holly’s we have rarely eaten in any other restaurants on Piedmont Avenue. This is the best food at the best price, along with excellent service!

The amount of protein is embarassing, or shameless.. depends on your pov.

The most authentic Chinese cuisine I've tasted for years! The portions are generous and the prices are affordable. Everything is REALLY HAND-MADE. My favorite dishes were Hot & Sour Soup and their hand-made pork dumplings. I've become their loyal customer.

Hollys is great and has been very solid for us. Price wise and food wise it’s the best in the immediate area IMHO. Walnut prawns are yummy, Mongolian beef is very good, fried rice tastes great. kung pao chicken spicy delicious. Never had a bad meal here (other than the crab won tons being too mayonnaisey) and we eat here 1-2x per month. I agree with another poster about the crab wontons being too mayonnaisey but I won’t order that again.

I agree, with another review. I really believed, that these reviews are by owners, and family members. The food was horrible, the chow mein noodles, taste a day old. They were hard and stiff. The crab wontons, filled with mayonaise, (nasty) I had to delete them. I paid $72 and some change. And only received back a $20 refund. I do not recommend this place, at all. They also screw up my order. High priced restaurant.

We did a take-out today because it’s 4th July and they don’t have dining service.

Bad experience, today I went for the first time during my lunch break and they open at 11 and I waited 15 minutes and they never opened, so I left, and so did another man who was waiting.

This place never disappoints. It’s been a go to take out spot for our family for a long time. I recommend the chow mein, orange chicken, and the cream cheese rangoons. The food also makes great leftovers and the portions are gigantic. Thanks Holly Mandarin for always pleasing my stomach
Really Great food, I got take out & picked up myself.
My favorites General Chows Chicken, string beans, wonton soup, salt & pepper chicken
I recommend all!
Service was fantastic, NO items came with onion per my request!
Such good food and still so reasonably priced so you and your family can still have good food.
Delicious food. Thank you!
Thank you for the sesame balls! They are so comforting and it's hard to find good ones.
