Big fan of the Jaymee Sirewich every time. This Ike's is very small and located in uptown Oakland next to a few other come-and-go restaurants and office buildings. The menu at Ike's is VERY large and diverse with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options as well. If you are in the mood for a sandwich, you will most likely find something here you'd want. I always get the Jaymee Sirewich which is a fried chicken sandwich. When they make it, it's fairly consistent quality and a big size. The cashier when I go is always quick and attentive and my sandwich is always ready within about five minutes. The one issue is that they don't offer inside seating, so this is not a place that you can go to order and hang out while you eat. The outdoor seating also gets put away at sunset (or maybe earlier, 6pm?) so expect to get your food to-go here.

I'm kind of hard convinced this is probably the best and most accessible sandwich shop and chain in the world. The reason I say that is because not only are the sandwiches delicious, hot, and fresh, but also they actually open pass 5PM. I don't know if you know this reader, but every deli place in the world closes as soon as I get off of work (this is hyperbole), but not this place, not Ike's. My favorite sandwiches are Just Be Friends with a fried chicken patty instead and the NY Cheesesteak, it's clearly not a Cheesesteak in the same sense you and I are thinking of, but for a Ike's version of a sliced ribeye sandwich with cheese, it's easily one of my favorite. The thing about Ike's sandwiches is that they're sandwiches made by people who love sandwiches, which is just a factual statement. The sandwiches you get are huge, overloading, and full of flavor and everything you want in a super messy homemade sandwich. Honestly, the issue with Ike's is that there's too many sandwiches I want to eat, but I'm stuck just going to my favorites since it's just too good. The customer service when you actually order in store are usually always exceptional. I don't want to say the employees love their job, but I wish I was as happy as them at my place. The restaurant is the size of a shoebox so ambiance isn't much to it. I've seen other chains where it's bigger and the vibe is always chill and clean, this place however is order and get out so the next guy in line can get his sandwich ordered too, which is fine for me. Tldr: Best sandwiches in the world just on principal for being open pass 5PM Great service at every Ike's I've ever been to Sandwiches are fresh, hot, taste great, and reasonably priced compared to how inflation has been

I recently went into the San Leandro location and was greeted by a young man named Shane. He recommend a few great choices on the menu and we ordered. let me tell you that was the best sandwhich I have ever had in my LIFE! thank you Shane and Ike's I'll be BACK FOR SURE

The service is good. I got the Adam Richman Sandwich and the fried chicken taste like a microwaved chicken nugget. Not good at all. The sandwich's are $20 with chips and a drink. They don't have a place to sit down. So be prepared to eat it outside in the cold standing up. If you didn't wash your hands before going to the restaurant. They also don't have a bathroom or sink to wash your hands. Sad :(

The sandwiches are pretty good and I do love that they have so many vegan options on the menu, but I'm writing this review to give a huge shout out to the staff! Every time I go during lunch they are absolutely slammed with orders but still so friendly and always hustling to get those sandwiches made. It's clear they're working very hard and (as a customer) I appreciate their service so much :)
