About Jamaica Sweet Spices

Jamaica Sweet Spices offers a delightful Jamaican dining experience. The menu features classic Jamaican dishes such as curry chicken, jerk chicken, oxtail, and callaloo, all of which are well-seasoned and authentic. The combination plate is a popular choice, providing a sampling of these flavorful offerings. While the presentation of the meat could be improved, the overall quality and taste of the food is praised by customers. The oxtail, in particular, is described as "authentic Jamaican style deliciousness." Diners also enjoy the side dishes, including plantains, cabbage, rice, and peas. Despite the high cost of food, Jamaica Sweet Spices is a go-to destination for those seeking a taste of genuine Jamaican cuisine.

The service is great, and the food is described as "bomb" and "fire." Customers appreciate the authentic Jamaican flavors, with the oxtail, curry shrimp, and chicken stew with pumpkin and spinners being particularly popular. However, some diners have noted that the jerk chicken could use more seasoning, and the rose (possibly a dish) was undercooked.

My lady and I got Oxtail with rice and peas and steamed cabbage, Curry Shrimp (actually spicy) and the Chicken stew with pumpkin and spinners.

She has the photos but I’ll edit this review and share them later, worth every penny.

This was my second time going to Jamaica Sweet Spice and I don’t know why the owner is not on social media to promote his business. The food is absolutely delicious. I would consider it one of the best in Oakland! This will be my go to spot when I want my Jamaican food! I’m going back today for dinner because I’m craving the flavor! The oxtails were tender, the rice and peas had flavor not like others that is just simply rice and peas. Theirs have a nice light flavorful...read full review
