I stepped in during my lunch break. I almost got out of line because it was moving slow, but I’m glad I didn’t. The line was there for a reason. I had the barbacoa and it reminded me of the one my aunt used to make. It was amazing! Support this place!

Guerrera's has quickly and easily become my new favorite lunch spot in Oakland. Delicious daily agua frescas and authentic vegan options. If I had only $20 left, I'd spend it here.

It was nice sitting there in the open with my husband having lunch. The food is delicious the empanadas. Great, I didn't try the tamales, but I'll be back. We will be back. The girls they're are very friendly staff courteous.

Was craving tacos and found this place. Didn't realize it was located in a cute food court with other dining options but good to learn. There was plenty of seating inside and outside, likely due to it being a weekday. Im sure the weekend is a different story.I went for tacos but ended up with the special that day, the carnitas plate. It came with pickled onions and tomatillo salsa verde. Served with corn tortillas, arroz Mexicano, and refried black beans. The young lady who took my order assured me it was a good choice. She wasn't wrong, it was delicious and a large portion. I had two meals in one. This place is it. I'd be here all the time if I lived in the area.

Out of towner hereI got the carnitas platter and it was solid. The black beans were excellent as well. With tip, it was $115 for 4 people. Pretty pricey for a place that doesn't have waiters. It's pork, rice and beans. Not exactly expensive stuff, but the food was great for sure. I'm sure the lease for this location is a fortune, so that probably explains the price. It's the Bay Area. What do you expect?Generous portions too. Just enough to feel full without stuffing yourself. I would recommend and would definitely come back again when in Oakland. Beautiful downtown, BTW.

Love La Guerrera so much! It is Latina owned which is a huge plus and I was delighted that the offer chicken tamales for the holidays which has become an annual tradition for Christmas (whenever my Mexican mom isn't in town to make them for us). Their masa is legit and I absolutely love their salsa verde. Yes, they are on the pricy side for tamales but worth it for the trade off in high quality ingredients and taste if you ask me.

4.5 starsThe barbacoa was savory and delicious and the enchilado (basically al pastor) was one of the better versions that can be had in the bay area imho. This is what replaced Cosecha. Although the pork belly taco from Cosecha is one of the best tacos I've ever had, this place fills their shoes nicely. I have heard the tamales are great so I may get one of those next. The only reason that I gave them 4.5 stars instead of 5 is that I don't think they are the best value. Each taco is $5 and, although the quality was exceptional, the size of them are typical street taco size. I ordered two and wish I had ordered three to be adequately full.

Tacos were great. I especially liked the fish and carne asada. The chicken taco was excessively spicy for my European liking. The atmosphere was great and staff was very helpful.Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is located in the shopping centerWheelchair accessibility: Yes. No doors or other obstacles.

I was so excited to try this place who was part of La Cocina's incubator program that supports Women of Color to start their own business. I was in OAK at the convention center and we walked next door to Swan Market for lunch. It was a no brainer that I chose this place out of the many delicious options. First, the place is gorgeous and vibrant, with an equally amazing menu of drool worthy options. We all had a hard time choosing what to eat because it all sounded spectacular. The service was top notch and the food does take a little while to get because it isn't sitting there and they prepare your plate when you order. After much back and forth, I went with the sopes with barbacoa. Oh my, was that barbacoa flavorful and finger licking good! The meat was tender and full of spices, and the sopes (corn meal) were so crispy on the outside. The mango agua fresca felt like a little vacation in a cup. Oh, and the coyotas- OUTSTANDING! They are hand pies with a buttery pie crust and delicious pumpkin filling. Just WOW!

They are consistently friendly. Food comes out quickly. My issue is this-the food is always missing salt and there a lack of citrus/pickled element. It’s like the food is just not at its full potential. I’ve been here several times.

We have been to the restaurant and also used the catering service. Both are fabulous. Swan Market is a fun, casual place. Guerrera’s food is top-notch.They catered a 70th birthday for about 80+ guests. Everyone raved about the food. We had the taqueria with a choice of barbacoa, pollo, or seasonal vegetarian. We also had refrescos, chips, salsa, guacamole, ceviche, and fruit cups with tamarindo sauce and Tajín. I just can’t put into words how good it was, and reasonably priced. Also, Reyna and her mother are thorough, efficient, and professional. At the same time they are warm, personal, and calm, so their very presence was a plus. My husband is a fantastic cook, so we have never had an event catered before. He was lukewarm to the idea initially, but thrilled with the results. He finally had a party where he could relax and visit and dance!I will definitely be going to their restaurant and using their catering service again.Vegetarian options: Delicious. Not just a substitute or a second choice. Even meat eaters enjoyed their seasonal vegetable tacos.
