Seriously. Why is management allowing such an establishment to be so… below mediocre. This is prime real estate and I’ve recently came back here for a second time and I was reminded of why I won’t be returning back again. The service could’ve been better. Again, management needs to do better on scoping how many people should be working and when. The servers are nice but overly worked and SLOW. And the food…… just embarrassing!! You come here for a nice view. The venue is to die for. The food, however, will kill your good vibe. DO NOT COME HERE EXPECTING GOOD FOOD.

The three stars are for the lavender lemondrop drink. It was delicious. Yummy! I would return for the drinks and pass on the food.Salmon croquettes tasted like they came out of a can. To sit across from the water and not have a fresh taste was disappointing. The sauce for the fish wasn't good either. It didn't have a distinctive taste.For my main meal, I had the Local Petrale Sole Piccata with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The lemon butter sauce tasted great on the potatoes and asparagus. But the fish was underwhelmening. I just checked the menu and saw that it said parmesan crusted. I don't know what parmesan they used. But good parmesan has a bite to it. It is possible that the taste was reduced during the cooking process. To me, the fish tasted like they took it out of the fridge and coated it with batter, but they didn't add any seasoning. There were no hints of garlic or even salt. It was pretty bland.The staff at the bar were friendly. Our waiter was polite.The ambiance is nice. I would return for drinks and go somewhere else to eat.I wanted to add that the restroom has some issues. There was a lot of water on the floor. I don't knownofnthere is a plumbing problem, but if you wear pants, watch your hemline. I saw a group of young girls dressed for the prom, and I could only imagine their discomfort in having to navigate the restroom.

Took 15 minutes for waiter to greet us and take order. 20 minutes to get order, fish tacos, chips and guacamole, and carne asada tacos.Drinks came when almost finished with dinner. Waiter said bar was backed up.Food was ok. I expected better food and service for the price.

I was looking for someplace nice to take the family and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff was attentive. The toughest decision was whether to eat outside on the dock or indoor overlooking the lake. Both the food and drink had excellent flavor and presentation.

One of my favorite spots with a great view in OaklandOutdoor seating is lakeside, and there's heaters for added comfort.Service was great, food was delicious and parking was fairly easy for a Saturday evening.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this is one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Firstly, I had about 20 dead ants in my soda, which was replaced with a clean soda but was not comped from the bill. We had a prefix thanksgiving meal that cost $220 for 2 people, and it was worse than cafeteria food- dried up turkey, a plop of mash potatoes that had clearly been frozen at some point, etc. Tasteless, terrible food. The desert was an also clearly recently unfrozen bread pudding, dry and stuck together. Unthinkable for so much money. Although it’s a beautiful place to sit outside, the food is horrific.

This place is trash. Bartenders, except for Steven are trash. I came here during happy hour, ordered ($10) wings and 3 drinks and they charged me $100 LMAO. I will never return here. I’d rather pay $300 for dinner and drinks and excellent service in San Leandro or SF. It just sucks because this restaurant is walking distance from my place. I was a regular but change in management and lack of service for young vulture bar staff. Overcharging me won’t increase your hourly wage…I will never spend another dollar here. They think that they can make up for an over charge with cheap shots that I never asked for. Don’t feel like you are doing me a favor with you are screwing me. I will address my overcharge as well. Not letting that go. They can go to ____.
I recently had to join a work Zoom call and charge my phone at this location.- The top floor offers a spacious and comfortable setting with great views- The fish and chips they serve are beer-batter-delicious- The servers are attentive and understanding (allowed me to have the privacy I needed to focus on my work during the Zoom call- The view was beautiful, showcasing the natural beauty of the lake that was not visible during my zoom call but left a lasting impression on me

The host (white guy with cross necklace) was extremely kind and hospitable. He brought us waters while we waited. The bathroom however is too hot. If you are looking for a sauna I would go to this restaurant and sit in the bathroom for a while. P.S. We didn't order anything to eat.

Worst customer service I've ever had!!! Yesterday was my first time coming to Lake Chalet. I went there around 5:45 pm for the happy hour that ends at 6:30 pm. The person by the front desk told us we could sit by the bar or outside, handed us the paper menu for happy hour and did not even bother showing us inside. She also did not explain how our order was going to be taken. We sat outside and waited for a good 10 minutes confused why no one was coming to us to take our order. We went inside by the bar area where all the staff members were obviously avoiding eye contact and deliberately ignoring all attempts to communicate and place an order. It was a customer sitting by the bar who told us that if we were sitting outside, we had to place our order with one of the staff members at the bar. One annoying staff member just talked to us to tell us that happy hour was ending at 6:30 pm. Duh! We know! We stood by the bar until 6:30 pm, with a line forming behind us and all 3 staff members in the bar area kept ignoring us. I tried everything to call their attention. The guy who was previously taking the orders literally took off and went to the kitchen around 6:25 pm. Meanwhile, there were now two staff members just sitting by the entrance not doing anything. I left that place furious. Lake Chalet - don't do happy hour or the food business altogether if you can't handle it! It wasn't even that crowded! Everything was just so unorganized.
