Wonderful Black woman owned restaurant. We had breakfast sandwiches and the roast beef sandwich. This will definitely be a staple going forward. I’m excited to try their Ethiopian food the next time we come

I live nearby and go here frequently. The breakfast sandwich is divine! I get it every time but friends have ordered other things and theirs always looks good too. Their coffee is great too! Staff are friendly. Outdoor seating area is nice.

Ethiopian inspired breakfast eats around the corner from the lake. They have breakfast staples like the egg and avocado bagel sandwich or the omelettes (both of which we had), smoothies, coffees, and teas. The eggs were a bit too greasy for our taste, and the chai could have used a little more kick, but the staff were friendly and it’s an affordable alternative to pricier brunch spots around town. And to the owner, I’d say it overall has great potential and a beautiful interior - you just need to tweak the recipes a little and cut back on the oil.To visitors, it’s worth a visit!

The OakCali Cafe is my favorite neighborhood cafe! I always get the breakfast sandwich, which has a buttery omelet and salad on a bagel and is delicious. I also think the lattes are very good, they are always nice and hot. The shop is run by Enat and her daughter Abigail, who are very nice and welcoming every time I come in. They make you feel right at home! The shop is very cute and I like to go there and read my book.

Delicious Ethiopian breakfast with open air alfresco dining. Very close to lake Merritt. Highly recommend it. Try the Ethiopian breakfast while you're here.

I really hate to leave negative reviews for locally owned places but yesterday, both dishes we ordered were drenched in oil.My threshold for oiliness is usually pretty high when I eat out but I was so grossed out I couldn’t finish my food. I also had a terrible stomach ache this morning, likely from my meal here.I thought maybe it was just a bad day for them but reading a few reviews, it seems like this is becoming a pattern.
