We only had drinks this visit because we were craving the whole fish that they have. They only have the whole fish on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We were sad. But the drinks were amazing. Service was good.

Food was excellent as usual. I always forget portions are huge, but the plantains, catfish and red beans stay reliably delicious. The ambiance was nice, almost reminiscent of NYC on a Friday evening in the fall.

Didn't get to try the food and drinks.. just stopped by here to see how the vibe is and it was really poppin. Full table and full bar..good place to go with friends and a date.

A fave brunch spot, food is always good, the weather was perfect for the rooftop. Service was great for our group of 6, just the right amount of attentiveness. We'll def be back again.

This has been my go-to place for a while, and I really love it. I’ve brought many of my friends here on different occasions, usually sitting upstairs, and everyone has enjoyed it

They never have the roof top open, mac and cheese is really good though

The food was incredibly hit or miss for me. Loved the street tacos, but the burger was a little tough and the fries very meh. The plantains were good, but the amount of sauce you get didn’t meet the requirements for the amount of plantains you get.

I got the Henny Espresso drink which was pretty solid, but was not impressed overall by the cocktail offerings.

Oeste, as a concept of being a trendy, partially upscaled restaurant version that downtown Oakland truly needs and wants. Sadly, it falls short in ways that for some, appear glaringly obvious. For example, some of the servers seem less interested in actually being attentive, responsive and self-motivated to their customers and more consumed with getting through their shifts. The food is more basic than exciting, and often less than warm by the time it arrives - a big wtf if you've ordered breakfast. Not many options available for those of us who prefer plant-based entree options and not just a veggie burger cooked as if it was meat. Even worse, the ambience is ruined by the absolutely loud and simply annoying volume of the DJ-powered music! No one wants to converse during a meal after work, breakfast or brunch with friends, family or colleagues shouting conversation at each other with blaring music! No wonder the servers can't hear our orders. What's worse? No one on staff cares about this nuisance! Eating with earplugs makes what could be a good meal a complete disaster. It blows my mind that the restaurant's leadership team has not addressed this situation or if it's even been brought to their attention. I'm guessing Oeste has lost a few potentially returning guests as a result of their hearing being more valuable than concert-volume level music in a dining room. But don't take my word for it. Visit the restaurant and, like me, keep an open mind. Your ears will hate you later.

I love Oeste! They have the nicest staff, great cocktails and their catfish is PHENOMENAL! Lexx Jones DJing brings all the vibes together for the ultimate happy hour.

Had an 8pm reservation. We were greeted promptly and seated. Walking through the restaurant/bar it was busy and lively. The rooftop which is where we wanted to be seated was quiet but I was ok with that. The view is mid and like any evening in the bay chilly. We had cocktails (Jalisco 75) and a couple appetizers (fried Brussel sprouts and the plantains). Everything was great. Didn't order much food only because wasn't really what I was in the mood for. I'd definitely go back to lounge and have cocktails with friends.

Majority of the items on the menu, they didn't have. One of the guests in our party ordered a coffee, she didn't receive it until almost an hour after she ordered it. When she finally got it, the coffee was cold. They brought out our food with no utensils. We constantly had to flag down anyone for assistance. Our waitress was nowhere to be found or everywhere but our table. It wasn't super busy in there which is why I'm confused as to why the service was so terrible. There's no way anyone that works in Oeste would be okay with the service we received if they were us on Sunday. 0/10.

The younger bbl bartender was horrible. She didn’t give us our drink but she was taking shots with the dudes she was serving. The potatoes were really good.. atmosphere is laid back and this spot is in the cuts, quaint and cute.

The food was good, the atmosphere was a good vibe. It took a very long time to get coffee for two at our table. The food came fast but our waitress didn't check back and we had to flag her down to get our check. Overall the vibe and food were good and the service could have been better.

Ladies - if you are looking for a good time, this is the place to be. This place is filled to the brim with HUNKS!! I always take an extra 30 min to get ready to find my future husband at Oeste. Drinks are delish and food is SO good but the real candy are the studs 😏
