Got out of Oakland Zoo and found this place next to a liquor store but the food is deceptively tasteful vs the neighborhood. We order 2 gyros and a lamb bowl. Besides the ample portion, the meats (lamb, steak and chicken) are well marinated and tender. The lamb is not gamy at all. The fries that come with the order are so seasoned such that ketchup would actually ruin it.
Will definitely revisit next time I visit the zoo.

Hold your horses, a new menu item just dropped, I got first taste, and I will say this, if you order this soup and are not satisfied with the combination of flavors, I will personally refund your money. I've been doing this a long time with 5 million plus views. THIS IS A MUST HAVE......TRUST ME!

Amazing food! We had the lamb quabuli pallaw and a cheeseburger, both were out of this world. The lamb shank was super juicy and tasty, and the burger was one of the best I've had. This is more of a takeout place but they've got a little bit of seating. The owners were super sweet as well.

Delicious food with generous portions! We got the lamb and tikkah (tri-tip) kabobs. Everything was cooked perfectly and the meat was tender. Probably the best Afghan bread in Oakland. Love the green sauce for a tangy hit. I should’ve asked for a white sauce as well and declined the plastic ware since we ate at home. This was enough food for two lunches, plus a second meal for me and a snack for my guy.

Went all the way from saceamento to oaktown kabob. 100 percent worth it. The food was so crispy, juicy, and tender. The popcorn chicken was so good I didn't even have time to take a picture of it. 10/10 would recommend for everybody to go and eat Herr in Oakland kabob.

Just came to oak town kabobs, hole in the wall but the food is delicious. Both the Chicken kabob and tikkah kabob are so tender and flavorful. I couldn’t stop eating. My picky kids had hamburger and they loved it. I would highly recommend them. Can’t wait to come back

Wow I went and ordered the kabobs and ordered a catering service for my daughter’s birthday party. I have my own restaurant but needed a last minute catering done oaktown kabobs came through for me last minute with no one else able to help I went on a whim no idea how it was going to be but oh boy am I glad I went with them. OakTown kabobs has by far the best food in the area absolutely tender and beautiful the family that owns and runs this place are so nice and lovely! Please please please everybody support them they said business is not good they might be closing after only 5 months please community band together and support this family owned restaurant.
The family that owns this place are incredibly nice, and the food is both affordable and DELICIOUS. Absolutely the quality you would get at a fancy sit-down Afghan restaurant, at takeout prices. We had the chapli burger, qbili pallow, and lamb kebab. The qbili pallow came with a huge piece of super tender bone-in lamb. Everything was wonderful but tbh my surprise favorite thing was the FRIES that came with the burger. They were some of the best French fries I’ve ever had. I will absolutely be back!!!
Be prepared that at first glance, the location looks pretty sketchy. It’s next to a big liquor store and many folks were hanging out in the parking lot blasting music while we waited for our order. We felt very safe, just setting expectations :)
