I’m highly recommend it ..I’m here every day
Oat milk Yemeni latte was smooth and flavorful. The pistachio croissant was very sweet but lovely. Potato fatayer was tasty but would probably benefit from being heated up--which, to be fair, I didn't ask them to do.

I got the pistachio latte, potato fatayir and pistachio milk cake. The latte was delicious and the fatayir was warm and savory. The pistachio milk cake was tasty and sweet but a little too sweet for my taste buds. A warm and welcoming atmosphere

Good place to work or study. Stable WiFi and outlets (though the ones to the left don't work). Similar layout to the SF location, though it fills up much more with people, especially students. Drinks are fine. I wish they'd add a bussing tray on top of the wastebin or somewhere, because the staff don't come to clear out emptied tables often. The toilet does require a code.

After recently stumbling into this place without time or ability to stay & enjoy it, & a FAR too early & stressful a.m. today resulting in arriving to downtown Oakland 2+ hours earlier than needed, I sought comfort in the delectable and delicious delights of this locally owned yet little known gem of a cafe, located in the former exact location of far more known coffee chain. I decided that if I was going to drop ~$20 on BREAKFAST, I was getting EXACTLY what I wanted from EXACTLY WHERE I wanted to go‼ So off to Sana'a I drove‼
For breakfast, I indulged in the Adeni Chai & "honeycomb" bread - cream cheese stuffed and served warm with local honey - & saved the pistachio raspberry croissant is for later, lol (So the taste review for THAT will have to wait‼)
UPDATE: The Croissant was EVERYTHING one expects and MORE❣❣ Flakey, buttery, sizable‼️It was ALSO filled with the perfect balanced ratio of a pistachio-rasberry spread that tasted divine and was enough for every bite‼️ A unique twist on a classic item, don't snooze on this item if available AND you like those flavor combinations ‼️‼️???
The honeycomb bread was perfect, with cream cheese in EVERY fold. It paired perfectly with the local honey & large Chai, a drink that is WELL worth the ~$6, which I'll RARELY pay for in a drink. But this was a TRUE splurge if ever there were one
The pastries were tenderly home/hand made, with the perfect texture you'd expect from these type of items. And their "pro tip" on the chai: "light" sweetness is 2 spoons of sugar‼ Agreed‼ If you have a huge sweet tooth and or like very sweet drinks, "normal", go for the usual 3. Being usually sugar & carb free myself, I found the light sweetness to be "just right". OBVIOUSLY, I was neither sugar nor carb free today‼
The staff were kind, informative, & professional. It FELT to me like my order was handled by the proprietor, both people tended to my order quickly & with care, even bringing my "to go" item to my seat. Maybe it's because it was early in the day with just a few customers, but I found NONE of the staff problems I've seen in other reviews. It was obvious that the 2 staff people were engaging in a "labor of love". I HIGHLY recommend this spot when seeking out a cafe, and BONUS: they're open EARLY (6:00 A.M.) & close LATE (10:00 P.M.)‼‼THAT'S RARE in Oakland these days...ANYWHERE in Oakland ‼‼
So do yourself a favor the next time you're in the area with some time to spare and stop in here. You'll be glad you did. I sure am❣

This is probably my fifth time visiting and I cannot say enough good things about this Cafe. Everyone I've gone with has loved not only the espresso but the different lattes and ice lattes that they offer. I get the chai every time and it's perfect. All of their goods are incredibly delicious. There is no wrong selection. Go enjoy.

Chill and clean atmosphere with legit wifi. Clean bathrooms and super friendly service.
That all aside, Yemeni coffee is legit! It’s like a spicy tea coffee (that’s my crappy attempt to explain the taste). If that’s not your thing, they also have regular lattes and espresso options.
The baked goods are solid too, very delicious baklava. If you’re in the area, then you gotta check it out!

Completely delightful. My boyfriend and I got two different coffee drinks here and loved them both – also got a little baklava, which came covered in a delicious pistachio sauce. Wonderful atmosphere! and a lovely local who recommended us a great spot for fried chicken right nearby. Can't wait to come again. ?

The chai is really good! Rich and flavorful. I get medium sweetness which is just right.
Tried the cheese pastry this time and enjoyed it.
My relatives say the coffee is good.
The interior is really pretty and they have outlets at the wall seats.
I keep forgetting to take a picture of the Adeni chai but it's really good - strong but not bitter.
The tiramisu looks good; maybe I'll get to try it next time.
Good drinks, good service, nice space, WiFi, outlets, long hours; what more do you need?

First visit but already is clearly an amazing community serving institution. Flyers for community groups on the window and the cashier desk. Incredibly friendly, warm, welcoming staff. The drinks and food options look salivating. Had a good group of patrons - but nothing crowded or super loud, just not totally empty. WiFi and plenty of outlets for workers. Can’t wait to come back and try some of these delicious looking desserts and iced teas and that pistachio latte ?
