The food here is amazing! I’m always impressed by how much variety they have — from boba and crepes to ice cream, noodles, and fried rice. I’ve brought friends and family here, and it’s become a tradition to visit every year, especially late at night. Such a perfect spot for late-night cravings!

I always stop by and order randomly!
I'm glad to say ! They do not Let Me Down ! Items are hot and a welcomed comfort in a town that needs a Prayer! Thank you !

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing from start to finish.

The food was not only poorly prepared and lacking in flavor, but it also left me feeling sick afterward — which is incredibly concerning. Whether it was due to poor hygiene or spoiled ingredients, it’s unacceptable for a restaurant to serve food that results in stomach pain.

Customer service was equally bad. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, with no sense of urgency or hospitality. There was no apology or effort to address any of the issues we brought up.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. Between the unpleasant food, the lack of care in service, and the health concerns, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Got the baked chicken with red sauce. It was quite large and good value. Can't go wrong with a free drink although I felt the coffee was weak and warm not hot. It was hard to wave down our server. I wouldn't recommend this spot if you are in a hurry although the food was much better and larger than what I remembered in the past.

I order Mongolian Beef over rice. They substitute it with pork and hope that no one knows it. This place used to be good. Now, they just want to make money at all cost.

Excellent milk tea and excellent milk tea & coffee combo.

Appreciate that they offer no sugar options with a small container of condensed milk.

Will be back!

18% gratuity on orders over 5 people, and they ask you to tip again afterwards.

I ended up tipping 15% because they hid the itemized bill on top of another receipt and ended up up charged $30 extra…

Shooting Star Café is one of those unique gems where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at any time of the day. I love that flexibility—it’s not often you can walk into a restaurant in the morning and order something like chicken and broccoli for breakfast (yes, I did exactly that, and it hit the spot!). The menu is broad enough to satisfy whatever craving you might have, whether it’s comfort food, a hearty meal, or something lighter. The environment is welcoming and has a fun, modern vibe that makes you want to stay a while. On top of that, the staff was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. Shooting Star Café is definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re in Oakland and want a casual spot with great food and great service.

Had their black sesame soup at the night market and it was solid, not too sweet. Would come back here
