TRUE discrimination towards WOMEN! Now, haha, I will go back every day just to make him give me free food. SuckA!
I was there providing free phones and the person that was providing meals, offered me a meal as well. I was very humbled by his generosity. You never know where your next meal will come from. Thank you for even helping me as well.
avoid this soup kitchen, I walked miles to get here only to be served food that was completely INEDIBLE!!
I was greeted by wonderful staff who were helping, friendly and non judgemental, I was caught off guard completely. I registered into the system quickly, was escorted to the woman side to shower they have top products to shower with accessable for all to use. You get 15min to shower I was trying to rush but it's challenging to move so fast but I felt pressured solely because of the 15min time frame, but in no way was I pressed to hurry up they arekind and patient after I finished the woman had said anything on the table filled with brushes, shampoo etc that I can take anything I like so I had grabbed a few things and a big bottle of shampoo and conditioner and they had a box of food waiting for me I was pleased by my experience and thank you to all the wonderful hard working ladies working there the security guard too she was young but really polite and nice. I feel the judgement in other places that help houseless people especially in within the general public all around as they drive by you are the looks on some faces makes you feel a certain way or when those that drive by and won't even look around them as they don't care to acknowledge those who are living rough. I didn't choose to be in this position, it was forced upon me and due to the high rent and inflation it's damd near impossible to afford rent. There are nurses who are out here in the same position, one lady work at a school as a teacher and goes home to her tent every night it's really bad in the bay area. I can travel to Pittsburg win co store and buy triple the groceries for the amount spent in Oakland. Idc what anyone says, the people who run this country is choosing to have this expensive prices and beyond high rent and gas!!! Bar none! They can choose not to have these high prices!
Thanks for keeping it real

It is not intended to be a restaurant-style establishment. But I was kindly given food, even though food serving started at around noon.
Paid visits to the drop- in day center establishment 8-9 months before birth.

Mostly-healthy meals, every day. Show up around 10:45 am for lunch, or 12:15ish for the second lunch round, and ask about other meal times. You don't need ID or proof of low-income status, or whatever. Just wait in line, wait for them to hand you a platter (don't grab at stuff). Seconds are available (just get in line again). If elderly or disabled, or with a small child in tow, you get to go to front of line and there's a reserved area for table service.
Cool place to eat! Nice people , for whomever is hungry .
