1:30 Thursday afternoon and they are out of bread for sandwiches. How does that happen ? A crazy Thursday run or poor planning? I wouldn’t mention it except that this has happened to me several times. Why do I keep going back? It has great scones and pastries. And bread and rolls, when they have them.
I followed these reviews and went to Starter Bakery for the first time and the reviews were spot on, so let me add to them. Super excellent baked goods, super excellent staff, pretty all-white high ceiling interior, kind of a plain exterior building, but in a great neighborhood. What a great place.
Too many delicious looking pastries to choose from! The almond croissant has a good amount of paste in it and is very almond-foreward. The babka was chocolatey and soft even on the second day. The pecan brioche was nice and not too sweet and almost like a cinnamon roll (would love to try a version with cream cheese in it).
