We sat at the bar and had dinner there - same menu as the tables, and the bartenders (Adam and Beth) were great. The drinks are well made, both alcoholic and NA. (I recommend the Italian Spritz if you are the designated driver but want to feel like you are indulging), and the food is really good. Would highly recommend for dinner if you are in the Jack London Sq area.

It was very busy, understandable because it was Mother’s Day. They seemed to be understaffed. We arrived at the restaurant between 2:30 and 2:35 for a reservation at 2:45. Our issue was that we were not greeted for about 5 to 10 minutes while waiting at the host stand. We didn’t get seated until almost 3 p.m. The server was friendly and helpful. The food was decent but highly priced for what you get. I want to try it on a less busy day. This was our first time going, so we looked forward to it.

I really had a blast here, and compared to when I first visited back in the 80's it's only gotten better! The Prime Rib was off the Hook! \m/ Add on great service and killer vibe, I'm comin' back! :) \m/

Got our order wrong twice then said we'd get the credit boxes up the 2 they got wrong told us to take them anyway. We got ready to leave and the manger came over and asked what happened we told her she apologized but then said she couldn't allow us to take the 2 mistakes they boxed up for us not that we even asked for it or needed it but why box it give it too us then tell us they needed it back?? The mix up was they gave us pork chops instead of lamb chops (my girl doesn't eat pork) then instead of prime rib (special) they gave us a ribeye.

Update - Thank you to (assuming) the owner for helping clarify pricing as well as my negligence to fully check the itemized receipt as I had only kept the customer copy of payment (not the itemization). The prompt followup helped explain about $12 of the $15 mystery-charge, and the remainder is probably because of rounding numbers. Google app is limited in recommending dishes - the seafood linguini and oysters were fresh and the highlight for my group the day we visited.

Arrived at the location by accident and received wonderful service and food, as well as very conscientious staff! Dim lighting makes a nice ambience, and the separation of the bar from dine-in tables helps lessen the feeling of cramped spacing.

Recommendation - it would be great if the receipt would list out what other fees were included because there was an unknown fee of $15 added to my charges that was not part of the food. Idk if it were food add-ons that my group & I weren't aware of from having food add-ons like the grated cheese and cracked pepper, or if there were city-specific fees, surcharge for digital payment methods, or something entirely else that I wouldn't know as someone from out of state.

Context - We had 2 burgers ($18/ea, sauces of ketchup, mayo, mustard no avocado/bacon/crumbled cheese), chowder ($16), french onion ($15), chicken mediterranean ($30), seafood pasta ($39), warm spinach salad ($22), half dozen oysters ($22), kebabs ($20) which totals to ~$200 and were offered cracked peppercorn and grated cheese for the seafood linguini, but my receipt says $215 before taxes and gratuity.

Was able to walk in as a two top on a Friday night at 9pm to get seated right away. Wine tastings came quickly and the bottle of 2022 Napa Chardonnay we selected was fruity and crisp. 5 out of 5.

Was disappointed to see powdered, canned parmesan on my cesar instead of fresh grated. The order was not coursed out and the entrees were delivered while only halfway done with our salads which made for an awkward, full table for two and cold entrees. 3 out of 5.

My date ordered the mushroom risotto which had a great, earthy flavor but the thick, stodgy texture made the dish a 2 out of 5.

I ordered the seafood linguine and found both the the shrimp and the salmon to be overcooked. While the cream sauce was nice and creamy and quite balanced with the noodles, which were also cooked quite nicely, I found the salmon a bit overpowering for the delicate sauce and noodles they prepared. 2 out of 5.

The house cheesecake had an incredibly fluffy texture you can only get with a fresh, homemade cheesecake and the side-served blackberry sauce was perfectly tart and a much welcome addition.

The cream brulee was set perfectly, had a wonderful vanilla flavor, and was not too sweet with just the right amount of broken sugar on top for some crunch and a bit of sweetness.

Server only asked to pour wine once and only after we finished the bottle. Check was not closed down until after they closed and I had to flag them down.

For what they are charging, there is much to be desired from the The Fat Lady's dinner service. Hats off to the pastry chef, though.

Atmosphere is absolutely a 5; love the Victorian stylings and stained glass. I will be back again for another try.

Amazing time. We were in town to visit our son who is attending college. We brought all of his dorm mates. They raved about the food. The cocktails for us were amazing. Food excellent. Service was perfect. Thank you!
