The food was good but overpriced. I ordered the chicken sandwich specifically because it had pickles on the side, but it never came with them, and the waiter insisted that I was wrong about that.My group arrived on a Saturday reservation to have brunch for my mother's birthday. We were seated in the outside dining area and it was cold and rainy that day. A part of the dining area was not covered by a tarp so rain was able to reach us at our table. The food took very long to arrive, but we did have a larger party and the staff seemed a bit short handed.

Amazing food and creative beverages from the bar! Wonderful atmosphere with a really cool staff that makes you feel like “one of the cool kids” just getting to be here! It’s a great place for brunch! But you can’t go wrong with stopping in at any time of day! I REALLY REALLY hope they open back up!

Grand Tavern is one of my all time top local favorite restaurants in Oakland. We are waiting for them to reopen for takeout/delivery and hope that it will happen soon! Wishing them all the success in rebuilding and we want to support them by giving them as much business. The website is not working and I'm hoping they'll get it back up and working soon when they're reopened! Also - their beet salad and (gluten free!!!) chicken bites are delicious and their staff are WONDERFUL!!! We can't wait to see them again soon!

Don't worry if it's busy, it is worth the wait. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.

We started going here the last few years and love it. Sitting outside to have drinks and a few apps while watching people is a lot of fun. The staff if incredibly nice and great drinks selection. Can't wait until they're open again!

Love the vibe of the place, only had a couple beers so not sure about the food yet. Will soon find out.

The back patio is great for happy hours and meetups.

Came here on short notice for Valentine's Day. Relaxed atmosphere and good comfort food. The staff and guests were all mixed crowd -- fun people watching. Except for one snooty couple that walked in, silently judged the crowd, and kept walking right out the door (super "deliver me from L.L. Bean" moment ha!). Toodaloo! I liked that we had a friendly exchange with the man at the register and a friendly guest at the bar. It's the warmth at a local spot that counts, and we will be coming back to share more chill evenings.

We went for bunch. Staff was super friendly. No wait for a table. Food was delicious. They had a short rib hash special which was amazing, with two perfectly poached eggs on it. We also ordered the French toast which was also delicious. I highly recommend for a quick bite, or a relaxing drink. Will be coming by again!

We love this place. Nice, friendly, old-time vibe, simple yet yummy menu, good drinks, excellent service, reasonable prices. Great on dinner with both a front patio and a back covered dining area, and the main dining room, while small, sports a beautiful mantle and fireplace (not in use) that is well-decorated and festive during the holiday season. It just FEELS GOOD to be here, for special occasions or just to hang out. A favorite spot, for sure.

Good food & cozy vibe inside and good amount of outdoor seating. Generally not too busy, compared to other more trendy spots.

Absolutely amazing experience here. From the cocktails to the atmosphere and the service. Came here on a busy Saturday and never felt like it was too crowded or rowdy. The two bartenders, I think their names were Max and Chris, were ridiculously accommodating and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend
