Absolutely horrible service. Customer service is atrocious. Sadly I wanted to like this place, but I will not be coming back!

Cool ambience and passionate service, but the food is hellishly salty.

This little “hole-in-the-wall” has potential to be a truly fantastic restaurant.
First off, the restaurant is a cool, funky space that definitely has “Parisian” vibes, but not in a traditional sense. The bar is beautifully back lit with green lights and has cool Polynesian themed frescos.
The service was good and attentive. We sat at the bar and had great conversations with the bartender. She was a great conversationalist!
The food was great.. we started with half a dozen Beau Soliel Oysters which came with a horseradish mignonette. We followed that with the smoked trout pate which was probably my favorite dish. My wife and I both ordered the Crab Salad for our mains as they ran out of the Smoked Petrale Sole. It was good but the portion was tiny and at $39 I was hoping for more… it was more portioned like an appetizer. We finished off with the chocolate tart which was also delicious.
This place is close to receiving 5 Stars, but portion size needs to be addressed. Plus, having only three entrees and running out of one limits what can be ordered.

As a person with a hearing disability, I found this place an extremely challenging location to interact with other people in my party. For one thing, the BART passing overhead frequently Is very hard to hear over when you are standing in the street just outside the restaurant, so I imagine because of this they have chosen to play their music so loudly that you cannot understand a word that anyone is saying right across the table from you. There doesn't seem to be many sound absorptive materials employed in the interior design, and what ones they have, such as padding of the booths are covered in material that would reflect sound. I would encourage them to go to "Great China" in Berkeley which has a lot of thoughtful elegant acoustical details that I think would be cheap ish to add to the decor and would help make this place more tolerable.
I found the experience of sitting in the Booths not very comfortable for a group greater than two. I had to worry about stepping on my companions' feet and I was a steward of my companions' bags which sat next to me.
Other elements of the interior design were pleasant - the shabby chic aesthetic was fun visually.
The food we had was actually very good, albeit pricey. I had a salmon and cucumber dish that was very intriguing and I would definitely eat it again given the chance. The side bread for $9 while tasty wasn't very substantial.
I shudder to think what this place would cost If it was in a location less challenging.

Service was awesome. Food was just ok. Uninspiring flavours and variety very limited. Cheese board was very uninspiring. With old grapes and boring cheeses.
Cocktails were good.

The cocktails and ambiance are beautiful. I've been going through a rough time lately and working hospitality myself, this spot is a refuge for a night cap on the way home. The staff is friendly. I haven't tried the food yet but giving 5 Stars across the board.

Tasty food and beautiful cocktails. I especially loved the crostini on their latest menu and all the cocktails were expertly crafted. Nice ambience and good service. Everything is a bit pricey, but the ingredients are high quality and skillfully prepared, so we enjoyed coming here for a celebration dinner.

Abby was a great server… Very attentive to allergy restrictions and generally kind + ON IT. Abby made my experience with having allergies at a restaurant very easy to navigate.

I had a lovely time. All of the details felt heartfelt.
I wish I’d taken photos. Beautiful and delicious. One of the very best meals of my 76 years! Cocktails also delightful. Have a Picasso!
