Decent venue with solid menu of a variety of soup dumplings and noodles. I had the classic xiao long bao soup dumplings as a shared appetizer $12 and beef noodles soup $15 as my entrée. Wrapper on the dumplings was nice and thin but filling seemed lacking in taste. Beef noodles came with pea sprouts (which I prefer over bok choy) and the beef was cooked to a tender texture, yet broth was slightly watered down. However, the service was prompt and we were seated quickly on a Sunday evening.

I recently visited United Dumplings in Oakland this past weekend and I can confidently say that it was a great dining experiences. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm smiles and efficient service. The restaurant itself is modern and cozy, creating the perfect atmosphere for a casual lunch or dinner. The dumplings were incredible. Each one bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The menu offers a variety of options, from classic steamed pork dumplings to more unique options. But the dumplings are not the only star of the show. The other dishes we tried were equally impressive. The beef noodle soup was rich and hearty, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Beyond the food, the service at United Dumplings was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were quick to suggest dishes and offer recommendations, making our dining experience even better.

We arrived about an hour after they opened for dinner on a Wednesday late afternoon and had such a good experience. There was no wait time for us which was great. I'd recommend coming earlier to avoid long wait times. Service was amazing and staff were very accommodating. Most items came out promptly, and the only reason why the pork xiao long baos came out later on in the meal, was because they were handmade and freshly steamed. The Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles had the perfect balance of spice and the peanut sauce, and the pea shoots added a nice freshness to the dish. Their California Beef Noodle Soup was our favorite, as the broth was comforting and flavorful, their noodles were bouncy and had the perfect texture, and the beef was very tender. Another dish that stood out to me was their Lobster Potstickers. I'm a huge fan of fishballs, lobsterballs, etc, and it was just that but in a potsticker, so good! The exterior was perfectly crispy while the filling had that amazing seafood taste, as it's filled with lobster, scallops, and shrimp. The Pork Xiao Long Baos came out, and I love how it's not only handmade but freshly made by order. There was so much soup inside each dumpling and it was so comforting to eat. Lastly, we ordered their Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings. The sauce of the wings was insanely good! It had flavors of ginger, garlic, chili, and a hint of sweetness to it. I'd definitely recommend United Dumplings if you're looking for a casual lunch/dinner with traditional and fusion Chinese comfort food!!!

The garlic pea shoots were amazing. smallish portions. Dunno if I'll go back for the dumplings themselves. They were just okay for the price.

Amazing food absolutely delicious. I love how you get to see the lady make soup dumplings through the window. Service was super quick and the food came out right away is the great spot to grab Chinese food with your friends or family. The beef noodle soup was my absolute favorite. The ambience of this place was amazing.

Went here on a cold and slightly raining Sunday with two of my buddies. Was interested in trying this place out since I do love dumplings and the taste of fresh dough. Small little wait until we got sat down and given the menus. First thing I notice were the prices. I usually don't mind the price if the quality or quantity is delivered to reflect said price. I ordered the Sichuan Dan Dan noodles and the Chili Oil Dumplings. These were both highly rated on the menu and probably the most popular options so I went with what I thought was the best. Food arrived and the first thing I noticed were the portions were quite small. I mixed the noodles with the sauce, peanuts, and meat within the dish until they were a nice melody. The Shichuan Dan Dan noodles was alright, it reminded me of the Thai Peanut Noodles but spicy. It didn't leave an impression on me. Then I tried the Chili Oil Dumplings which was also just alright, I got maybe ten dumplings? I love Chili Oil dumplings and I don't doubt the ingredients were fresh but there wasn't much flavor to the chili oil and the dumplings themselves. It just tasted mainly of heat. Now every restaurant and recipe is different, but I'm more used to a tang-ish flavor with the chili oil mix. The one thing I noticed that was off for the dumplings was it didn't have that fresh dumpling dough taste. I've been to a few fresh dough places and they always offer a familiar but distinct taste of fresh dough and chewiness. I ended up trading a few of my dumplings to one of my buddy for his chicken potstickers which was quite good, although I'm not a fan of the cheese. That's more of a preference than the food quality and flavor itself, but it was still quite a large ask in price for like, five potstickers? I just felt like the grilled cheese on the potstickers overpowered a lot of the natural and fresh tasting ingredients within the potstickers like the veggies and chickens with the fresh grilled dough. I don't see myself returning and this is purely a preference and nothing against the restaurant of course. But just not impressed by the flavor of the food or the limited quantity for how expensive everything was. The total bill was staggeringly shocking for six dishes between three people. The service was prompt and friendly at least. Tldr: Very expensive for underwhelming experience and quantity of food May have ordered the wrong items myself, and there might be a better option in the menu? Hope for the best of the restaurant, but I will not be returning

Dined in for dinner on a Wednesday. No wait, as it's very spacious with a lot of seating. Good selection of items on the menu, a variety to choose from in different categories (for protein, carb, veggie, appetizer, etc.). Food came out in timely manner. Items listed starting with my favorite at the top - Sautéed pea shoots w/ garlic - Worker came out with string beans first and we told him we ordered the pea shoots. It was an easy fix, as he went to tell the chef and the pea shoots came out shortly after. This is a great veggie dish and it's not something you can get all year round (sometimes it's sold out at restaurants when it's not in season)! Sautéed nicely with the garlic and nice little slight crunch from the stems Sichuan Dan Dan noodles - Pretty good, noodles were flavorful with the caramelized ground pork Pork XLB - The classic pork soup xiao long bao, they were decent. You have to eat them when they're fresh/hot since that's when they taste the best Spicy Sichuan wonton in red oil - It didn't taste spicy to me. Wontons were decent Beef noodle soup - Broth was more on the bland side and the beef was on the tougher side to chew. Noodles were good with a nice bounce to them This was the perfect amount of food for 3 people. Definitely great for family style. Street parking available (also across from the Safeway parking lot)

We came around 1:30pm on a Sunday. The whole experience was pretty bad.1. Service: None of the servers seemed to like their jobs. They were just wandering and chatting around waiting for the lunch business hour to finish. They would bring the POS machine to the table for payment, which I personally feel uncomfortable and embarrassing, and prefer the old fashioned way (give them the credit card and sign on the receipt). I accidentally put the wrong button at the machine and only tipped 5 cents by mistake. Later I had to leave some cash on the table for the tips.2. Food:-crab soup dumplings: very average quality. The wrap is sticking to the foil cup making it hard to lift without breaking it. Some of the frozen soup dumplings from grocery store taste even better than theirs. The crab meat stuffing doesn’t carry that savory umami flavor that it usually does, totally incomparable with the ones I had at Ding Tai Fung or Dumpling Home.-fresh cucumbers: the cucumber is very salty.-pot stickers: again, grocery store frozen food quality without savory flavors.3. Vibes/environment:The interior design choices are just wrong. The space is pretty empty and the surface is reflecting a lot of noise and magnifying every little sound in the space. Creating the whole space full of harsh sounds from staff cleaning up table and dishes, slammed doors, etc.

We happened upon United Dumpling while visiting Philz Coffee. What a great find! We ordered some pork buns to go, and watched the lady making dumpling from the window in front of the restaurant. She was so sweet and showed my son all of the steps of wrapping the dumplings. My son made a sign that said "good job!" and she was very grateful. The pork buns were delicious and we will definitely return soon.

Very clean and service great. We had the fried tofu (yum), pea sprouts ( stems were still attached so to avoid spitting it chewed) and something else; senior moment. My friend paid so I don't know how pricey. Left tummy full;good . I'll go back to support small business but wouldn't go back on my own. Parking ok at Safeway or if you can find on street Service great, bathroom clean

The grandma's pork dumplings were good!...But it was the only thing I liked. The pork soup dumplings were flavorless...Which was very disappointing b/c the only reason I ordered from here was b/c I used to get the most amazing soup dumplings in NYC and haven't found a place in Berkeley/Oakland yet.The dan-dan noodles were seperate from the sauce and it just didn't taste good -- flavorless, even when mixed together.

I've done takeout once and this is my second time dining in! Overall: solid comfort eats. Dumplings are good, albeit a bit pricy for size and quantity. Dine in is the better option in my opinion. Menu consists of dumplings, a few fried rice options or a few noodles. We went with only dumplings this time, and what a great and solid option if on College jonesing for some comfort eats in the form of a dumpling. With 3 sets of dumplings, tea, tax and gratuity it was about $30+ per person for 2 people. To note: this is not your inexpensive dumpling spot. This has Rockridge prices. 6 small pork soup dumplings were about $13. They were good with a light broth. The wonton chili dumplings were also pretty good, and the lobster potstickers, while not my personal fave, were well cooked. Fillings are slighter and skin is thicker here, while I prefer the fillings to be the star. Overall, solid! I'd come again since I don't live far.

I celebrated my 64th birthday with my wife, son, daughter in law, and my two toddler grandsons. We found plenty to eat-vegetarian and meat eaters. The dumplings, pot stickers, and spring rolls -vegetarian were an instant hit with my grandsons. My son, a more adventurous eater like me, enjoyed the pork and Shewan soup dumplings and pot stickers. All of us enjoyed the vegetarian Dan Dan noodles. We were waited on instantly and the staff were responsive. I ate here many times when it was a Chinese/seafood restaurant. I miss that business, but this place continues to be a great ambiance for North Oakland .
