Pizza was amazing. I've had chicago style pizza before and this is similar. The crust was a great crunch and toppings were fresh. The best part was the sauce, just order ahead because the pizza takes 15-30min to make just depends on what you order. Also if you get the deep dish one slice is equally the same as 2 regular slices.

I absolutely love this place, especially for happy hour on a Monday.If you don't already know they have a online subscribers discount on Mondays for 15% off.That said I'm a pizza junkie and this has got to be the place for the best deep dish in the East Bay.I especially like this location best, it is bigger inside than say Rockridge, it has some parking and also has a full bar.It's just down the street from the Grand lake theater and makes a perfect stop for snacks before or after.Now for the food n drinks, happy hour includes a discount price for their Caesar salad and their meatballs. We got both since we ordered a large split (two different pizzas in one) deep dish and it takes a bit for those to cook. So nothing passes the time better than snacks and tasty adult drinks.Parking: So they do have a half dozen spots out front on the street but during busy times those get swooped and others double park (usually delivery drivers and take away) but I have never had to wait long to find one.Kid-friendliness: Mondays tend to draw families with kids, the day I was there (on a Monday) there was a group of kids from a sports team or something, so it seems like it's pretty kid friendly.

I used to frequent the Zachary's on College when I was coming up as a young man in the Bay, so when we went back recently to visit my family for New Years, we were pleasantly surprised to find that Zachary's had opened a location on Grand, right by our old stomping grounds! (Yes I know, I'm late to the party)For a party of 4, we got two small stuffed pizzas - Spinach and Mushroom, and Zachary's Special, along with a large Caesar Salad. Everything was excellent, the same Zachary's I remembered waiting 1hr + for back in the day! The beers were also excellent and complimented the pizza perfectly - a Hazy IPA and a regular IPA, both local. And we didn't have to wait at all on Saturday night!

We lived in chicago for 15 years and missed authentic chicago style pizza and friendly Midwest service. This place was amazing on both fronts. Pizza is spectacular and our service from Nathan M was impeccably attentive. This place rules. Order the Negroni the hot toddy and the deep dish Zachary special and Carne thin crust.

Love the deep dish pizza! Bottom crust is toasty around the sides and the top crust is buried in thick, rich sauce so it’s nice and gooey-like cheese. So yum. I get sausage, spinach and light cheese and a Cesar salad-nice dressing. The paintings are always great to look at. Parking in Oakland location is right out front.
