The food and service here were phenomenal. I had the chicken satay with the beef curry martabak, rice and pickled cucumbers. The price and quantity of food was great but most importantly, the food quality and service was amazing. Highly recommend this spot.

Talk about a hidden gem! Didn't realize this spot also serves lunch until I saw a post on social media. In addition to their shaved ice menu, they offer a different lunch plate every day, mostly Indonesian or Japanese cuisine. We love Indonesian food but there aren't many options in the area so we were thrilled to find it here. After checking their daily menu on Instagram, we saw that they were offering a special of turmeric fried chicken, ground beef patties and tofu fritters with rice. We stopped by a little before the lunch hour and they made our plates fresh and fast right there. Maaaaan were we blown away by the flavors! That chicken was so crispy yet juicy, and paired with their homemade sambal sauce it was out of this world. Combined with the flavors of the tofu and beef, it was the perfectly balanced variety we'd want in a lunch plate. It's a lot of food, and an incredible value for only $12! We are definitely fans for life, and can't wait to go again with our son to get some shaved ice!

Chilly Bears is an awesome small business that offers a unique set up, good food, great customer service, hospitality & camaraderie. I appreciate that food is prepared fresh upon ordering. The daily menu offers a different dish daily that is scrumptious cuisine pleasant to the pallet. Now, Chilly Bears has extended their menu to include Mexican "street" Tacos aka TJ Tacos they're being offered & prepared by José & sold on exclusive days, such as Taco Tuesdays, being one of them. The famous Chilly Bears shaved ice is a must have, it's offered In a variety of flavors & also prepared upon ordering. It is refreshing & readily available to all who are overheated or just want to enjoy a delicious treat. In a short time Chilly Bears has become a staple in the Oceanside Community because of it's excellence & welcoming reputation. Really nice people and great shaved ice! Will have to try the food next. They were so sweet and gave our dog a bowl of shaved ice with some whipped cream. She loved it! We will definitely be back. Worth the stop if you need to cool down after a day at the beach. Tons of flavors to choose from, and super easy access to get back on the road if you don't live in town.
